Intuit Payment Solutions and The Bankcorp Bank have jointly announced that they will be discontinuing all services in connection with the GoPayment Prepaid Visa Card effective February 13th, 2013. Starting December 14th, users will no longer be able to add funds to the card and will need to link a checking account in order to receive funds from transactions through the GoPayment mobile credit card processing service.
Intuit is encouraging users to withdraw any remaining funds from prepaid card account before February 13th and is waiving its “Teller Cash Withdrawal Fee” to ease the process. For those who need to withdraw more than $3,500 in one transaction, Intuit is instructing users to first call the Customer Service Center at 1-888-339-8569 to increase the maximum amount allowed to be withdrawn in a single transaction. Any balances remaining after February 13th will be mailed via check at a cost of $14.95.
The prepaid card program was an option for receiving funds from transactions through the GoPayment system, in lieu of linking a checking account. Intuit has not commented on the reason behind the discontinuation.
