The company has received 0 complaints in the last 36 months. A Closer Look at The Contract

Cost & Fees Summary
Cancellation Penalties Yes
Monthly & Annual Fees Yes
Processing Rates Variable
Equipment Leasing Yes

Variable Contract Terms

There is very little specific information available about the standard Integrated Merchant Alliance contract. The company is “powered by” First Data/Fiserv, which means that businesses that sign up for a merchant account through Integrated Merchant Alliance are likely to receive an agreement similar to the standard First Data/Fiserv agreement.

First Data/Fiserv offers a wide variety of contract terms and pricing plans, but its standard agreement is typically a multi-year contract with an early termination fee of $495, a monthly PCI compliance fee of $19.95, and tiered pricing. Businesses that process up to $50,000 each month will receive a swiped rate of 2.69% plus $0.19 and a keyed-in rate of 3.69% plus $0.19. Businesses whose monthly charges exceed $50,000 will receive a swiped rate of 2.29% plus $0.19 and a keyed-in rate of 3.29% plus $0.19. Another facet of these contracts is non-cancellable, long-term equipment leases through First Data Global Leasing.

No Red Flags

The overall lack of complaints online about Integrated Merchant Alliance’s contract terms seems to suggest that most of the company’s clients are satisfied with the terms they’re receiving. We will therefore assign the company an “A” rating in this section for the time being. However, there is no reason to expect that Integrated Merchant Alliance’s standard pricing will compete with that offered by the cheapest merchant accounts. If you have any specific knowledge of Integrated Merchant Alliance’s contract terms, please share that information in the comment section below this review.

Outside Sales Team

Integrated Merchant Alliance appears to employ outside sales agents to market its services. This hiring practice is standard for the industry, and it is usually responsible for a high volume of complaints among clients. Integrated Merchant Alliance, however, is showing only one online review that accuses its sales representatives of misrepresentation. In this instance (found in the comment section below), the client describes misrepresentation of rates and fees as well as an inability to reach the agent after signup. The client states that the company corrected some of these issues while others were left unaddressed by customer service.

In general, this compares favorably to our list of best credit card processors.

No Deceptive Quotes

To its credit, Integrated Merchant Alliance does not appear to list any deceptive rate quotes in its official materials. If you suspect that you were misled about your rates, you can double-check your pricing with a third-party statement audit.

Our Integrated Merchant Alliance Review Summary

Our Final Thoughts

Integrated Merchant Alliance rates as a reliable credit card processing provider according to our criteria. The company is showing nearly zero public complaints despite what appears to be a fairly standard partnership with First Data/Fiserv. The only areas of concern with Integrated Merchant Alliance are its use of independent sales agents and the lack of available information about its contract terms. Readers should be sure to compare IMA’s pricing to that offered by top-rated merchant account providers in order to obtain the best deal.

How Did Integrated Merchant Alliance Treat You?

Integrated Merchant Alliance uses illegal sales tactics including promising one rate and charging another and promising singing bonuses that entice you to sign-up now and are never paid. The “sales representative” I worked with is the territorial manager, and he has lied about almost everything. The charges promised upon sign-up were quickly changed to higher rates after sign-up, and then the bill included even higher rates still. IMA charged for products never received (card swiper) and promised refunds, but never gave them. IMA overcharged and doubled charged me. Through customer service I was able to get only one of the many problems resolved. The territorial manager has ceased all communication with me. Customer service responded to my first inquiry, but not to any subsequent inquiries. They claim the territorial manager is the only one that can give me the promised signing bonus (that was to cover the cancellation fee I was charged by my previous processor to switch to IMA) and they won’t address being charged for the card swiper I have never received and was promised was free. If the territorial manager is unreliable and committing fraudulent sales practices, IMA should do something to make it right with the customer, but they have no intention of doing that. I am still waiting (over a month now) to receive any communication from my sales rep (territorial manager). I have been waiting over two months to get promised refunds and over three months for the signing bonus. I signed up on December 31 and all of these problems have occurred since them. I am very surprised there aren’t more complaints out there, but I’m sure they will come. If anyone is thinking of signing up with IMA, be very leery about what they tell you to get you to sign up and watch your bill closely.
