Process America (process4america.com) is a merchant account provider that outsources most of its merchant account functions to outside vendors. This merchant account reseller is also more than just a merchant account provider and electronic payment processor. Process America offers many different business services including payroll, and back office business management solutions. But, it’s the merchant account service sales division that is the focus of this review.
Formed in 2003 and based in Canoga Park, CA, Process America is a relative newcomer to the payment processing industry. The main issue noted with Process America is the over-reliance on outsourcing many of its services to other companies. The payment gateway utilized by Process America is outsourced to Connect-and-Pay and Harris Bank has been contracted to perform back office functions such as reconciliation and settlement. Domestically, transaction processing is facilitated through TSYS (formerly known as Total Systems Services and Vital). Process America is one of the few merchant account phttp://cardpaymentoptions.com/wp-admin/post.php?post=575&action=edit&message=1roviders that allow high risk merchants to process electronic payments. However, high risk merchants should expect to pay quite a bit more in processing fees including a higher discount rate and per transaction fees than less risky businesses. The company offers Interchange-plus pricing: however, high risk merchants should expect to receive pricing based on a tiered business model.
At the time of this review, Process America has an ”A+” rating with the Better Business Bureau and just one complaint reported within the last 36 months. In the complaint a merchant reported that Process America placed a hold on a transaction without notifying the merchant. Process America responded by releasing the hold and credit the merchant on excess fees collected due from the hold. The merchant reported satisfaction with the resolution.
There is also one complaint filed from a separate merchant outside of the BBB. In the report, the merchant complained of having a Cash Reserve put on his account. It’s unclear who is at fault in this complaint as Cash Reserves are usually a precaution against fraud or high risk transactions.
