Based in Carlsbad, CA, Processing Point (processingpoint.com) is a relative newcomer to the payment processing industry. Formed in 2005, the company is an independent merchant account provider that offers a variety of other electronic payment services. The main issue noted with Processing Point is its over-reliance on outsourced services. The payment gateway utilized by Processing Point is outsourced to Authorize.net and Harris Bank has been contracted to perform back office functions such as reconciliation and settlement. Domestically, transaction processing appears to be facilitated through Sage Payments. This basically means that Processing Point is more a sales and service organization of credit card processing services, but doesn’t actually act as a processor. One of the main draws for Processing Point is the ability to service international merchants via their agreement with Payvision. The company also does not charge an early cancellation fee nor do they appear to have term specific contracts, which can be an attractive feature for most merchants.
At the time of this review, Processing Point maintains an a ”A” rating with Better Business Bureau with no complaints reported within the last 36 months. There were also no complaints reported with any other consumer protection websites at the as of the last update of this review.
