VISA Settlement Benefits Merchants

VISA has reached a settlement with the attorneys general of seven different states and the Department of Justice that allows merchants to encourage customers to use a certain payment type for purchases. This settlement will prevent merchants from the threat of penalties from VISA. All of these changes because of the settlement mean merchants can now offer various incentives and discounts for purchases from customers using credit and debit cards that cost less in merchant processing fees.
