Android POS Systems

Last Updated: April 8, 2014

Tablet-based point-of-sale (POS) systems are becoming increasingly popular among merchants seeking to cut hardware costs, but it can be difficult for some business owners to decide on what kind of tablet to use. Despite the fact that Android tablets made up over 70% of tablet sales for the third quarter of 2013, most mobile POS providers are primarily or exclusively developing products for the iPad or iPhone. Because of this, Android merchants will need to weigh the lower cost of an Android device against the likelihood that they will have a limited number of tablet POS options.

Even with a restricted selection, Android users stand to benefit from many of the same innovations that are available to iPad merchants. In addition to simple credit card processing, Android POS systems can provide advanced sales analytics, real-time data tracking, cloud-based device syncing, customizable features, and other backend features.

If you are considering switching to a tablet-based POS system, you should be sure to research which providers can offer the features and pricing that will be best for your business type. In the space below, we have compiled a list of ten Android POS system providers that specialize in various industries.

Please note that CardPaymentOptions.com has not assessed the security of the following point-of-sale systems. This list also does not constitute an endorsement of any kind by CardPaymentOptions.com, and the order in which these businesses are listed does not imply a ranking of any sort. This list is simply a resource for merchants who are trying to find Android POS system providers. Merchants are strongly encouraged to research the pricing and services offered by these providers before agreeing to their terms.

bad news, SALESVU told me today they are dropping support for android devices and only going to be continuing development on apple devices. This really sucks, as an existing salesvu customer who only signed up with them specifically BECAUSE they offered android solution.
