Atlantic-Pacific Processing Systems Contract Terms
The standard Atlantic-Pacific Processing Systems contract is a three-year contract through Synovus Bank with automatic one-year renewals and a liquidated damages early termination fee that is calculated as follows:
(1) computing the number of months remaining from the date of termination to the end of the then current Initial or Renewal Term; and
(2) multiplying that number by the average monthly Processing Fees over the most recent six (6) months; and then
(3) adding costs and attorneys’ fees of Bank.
This contract also makes reference to the possibility of third-party equipment leases. Merchants are generally advised not to lease equipment, as these agreements tend to be long-term, non-cancellable contracts that cost far more than the purchase price of the equipment.
Virtual Terminal and Payment Gateway Pricing
In addition to its storefront payment processing services, Atlantic-Pacific Processing Systems also dedicates a portion of its website that advertises its virtual terminal and payment gateway services through either Authorize.Net or CyberSource. However, pricing on these services will depend on which gateway provider a merchant utilizes. Additional fees, such as Authorize.Net’s gateway fees, technical support fees, and Authorize.Net’s $0.10 batch fee may apply to these e-commerce services.
No Contract Complaints
Atlantic-Pacific Processing Systems has not received any recent public complaints about its pricing, but these contract terms are objectively not competitive with the cheapest merchant accounts. We have assigned the company a “B” to on the basis of its generally clean complaint record combined with its plainly restrictive contract terms. Are you happy with your Atlantic-Pacific Processing Systems fees? Why I'm Qualified to Write About Credit Card Processing and Merchant Account Services
I'm a former credit card processing sales director who left the industry because I didn't like how it takes advantage of small business owners. It feeds like a leech on businesses and thrives by imposing fees that are nearly impossible to comprehend. Seeing a need for change, I left and built this website help business owners better understand the industry, research merchant services providers, and get refunds of excessive merchant account fees. My experience of working "behind the curtain" in the industry, and using that knowledge for good, has resulted in millions of dollars returned to hard-working small business owners as well as enterprise-level companies.
From the time that I starting working in the merchant services industry to when I left to create this website, I've been on the pulse of payments for nearly 15 years. It didn't seem fair to keep this "insider" knowledge to myself. To lift the fog, I've reviewed hundreds of companies, read thousands of user reviews, and learned the pricing tricks of every provider. If you have questions about credit card processing, you can find the answers on this website.
