Clique Payments Fees, Rates & Costs
A Closer Look at The Contract
|Monthly & Annual Fees||Yes|
|Processing Rates||Interchange + $0.10 (After 100th Transaction), Variable for Virtual Terminal|
Variable Contract Terms
The company’s website prominently advertises interchange-plus pricing. Clique Payments itself costs only $40 per month through the Intuit app store and does not charge any transaction fees for the first 99 payments per month. It applies a $0.10 transaction fee to the 100th transaction and any additional transactions in a given month. Due to the company’s partnership with CardConnect, it is likely that its standard merchant account contract is similar to the standard CardConnect contract. However, Clique Payments does not require its users to switch payment processors, so clients are free to keep their current pricing rather than switch to CardConnect.
CardConnect doesn’t disclose its contract terms on its website, but we have seen reports of contracts up to five years, a PCI compliance fee charged each month for $8.25, high early termination fees (up to $750), and other monthly fees. Recent complaints mention an annual fee of up to $288 that is applied retroactively at the end of the relevant year. A copy of the company’s standard application (available below) also lists a monthly minimum fee of $25, a statement fee of $5, and a PCI non-compliance fee of $19.95 per month.
Virtual Terminal and Payment Gateway Pricing
In addition to its storefront payment processing services, Clique Payments also dedicates a portion of its website to advertising its virtual terminal and payment gateway services. The company relies on multiple payment gateways by processing payments through CardConnect, USAePay, WorldPay, Authorize.Net, PayPal, NMI, and Stripe. Additional rates and fees, including gateway fees, technical support fees, batch fees, and additional transaction rates typically apply to these e-commerce services. However, those additional rates and fees depend on which payment gateway a client utilizes.
No Red Flags
We cannot find any Clique Payments complaints related to the company’s pricing, and there’s no reason to believe that the company’s clients are dissatisfied with their pricing at this time. It is possible that Clique Payments offers a wide range of potential contract types through CardConnect, so businesses should understand how to spot undesirable terms in their contract. Clique Payments Employee Reviews & Sales Tacitcs
Should You Work For Them?
|Uses Independent Resellers||Yes|
|Discloses All Important Terms||No|
Outside Sales Team
Clique Payments appears to outsource its merchant services marketing to referral partners like CardConnect. We have not found any Clique Payments reviews that mention deceptive conduct. In general, this compares favorably to our list of the best credit card processors. However, CardConnect has received dozens of complaints related to misleading rate quotes from independent sales agents. For now, we will assume that Clique Payments does not directly engage in unethical sales tactics, but merchants should be aware of CardConnect’s reputation.
No Deceptive Rate Quotes
Clique Payments does not list any misleading rate quotes or unrealistic guarantees in its official marketing materials. If you suspect that a Clique Payments sales agent has misled you about your rates, you can double-check your monthly bill with a third-party statement audit.
