Clean Complaint Record

Currently, there are no Easy Pay Direct reviews found that label the company as a scam or ripoff. Easy Pay Direct primarily functions as an online gateway provider, rather than a traditional Independent Sales Organization (ISO). This distinction may result in fewer direct complaints about the services provided by its associated processors. Therefore, it may not yet meet the criteria for a top-rated processor for customer service. We encourage you to share your experiences in an Easy Pay Direct review in the comments below.

Easy Pay Direct Lawsuits

No significant class-action lawsuits or FTC complaints have been found against Easy Pay Direct. Merchants seeking non-litigious solutions can explore reporting to appropriate supervisory organizations.

Easy Pay Direct Customer Service Options

Easy Pay Direct provides in-house support for all accounts, and merchants also receive contact information for their specific payment processor in monthly statements. This dual-channel approach seems effective, as there is a notable lack of public Easy Pay Direct complaints.

While Easy Pay Direct does not publicly list a phone number on its website, it does offer a support form for customer inquiries.

Given the absence of complaints, Easy Pay Direct is awarded an “A” rating in customer service. For optimal SEO, including terms like ‘Easy Pay Direct complaints’ and ‘Easy Pay Direct customer reviews’ will help users find relevant information more easily.

Easy Pay Direct Online Ratings

Here's How They Rate Online

Online Ratings Summary
Total Complaints 0

Note: We have adjusted this company’s BBB rating according to our own standards. To better understand why we adjust BBB ratings, please see our Rating Criteria.

0 Complaints

Easy Pay Direct currently has no rating with the Better Business Bureau but is no longer an accredited business. Previously it had an “A+” rating, and it had been since January of 2015 at the time of our last review. Easy Pay Direct has not accumulated any complaints on its BBB profile. In general, merchants should be aware that there is reason to be skeptical of the BBB’s reviews.

What Merchants Say

Easy Pay Direct has previously received 2 reviews through the BBB. 1 review was positive while the other was negative. The most recent review was left by a merchant accusing the company of continuing to bill them after their account had been canceled:

Customer communication practices are deceptive and abusive. Refused to stop billing on cancelled accounts. No one answers the 1-800 number and you get different people on email who give you the run around. Their processing service paired us up with poor vendors and Easy Pay is simply a broker in the middle. They continue to bill us post cancellation and will not stop. Run for the hills.

Merchants in this situation should understand how to cancel their account without paying a fee.

An “A” Performance Overall

In light of the company’s clean complaint record and time in business, we agree with the BBB’s former rating at this time.

Easy Pay Direct Fees, Rates & Costs

A Closer Look at The Contract

Cost & Fees Summary
Swiped Rate 1.59% + $0.17
Keyed-in Rate 2.39% + $0.29
Virtual Terminal Rate 1.00% - 4.99%
Payment Gateway Fee Undisclosed
CBD Account Rate (US) 4.99% + $0.29
CBD Account Rate (Canada) 3.95% + $0.29
ACH Rate 1.60% + $0.29
Setup Fee $99
Monthly Fee $24.95
Monthly Fee (CBD Accounts) $29.99
Early Termination Fee $0 (domestic accounts)

Variable Contract Terms

A company representative has stated that Easy Pay Direct provides services through Electronic Payments Inc., PowerPay, and various offshore providers. The terms of its agreements (including PCI Compliance fees, monthly fees, and rate structures) will therefore vary greatly from merchant to merchant. Although the company usually offers a standard service length of three years, the same representative stated that Easy Pay Direct almost always charges no early termination fee, which minimizes the impact of a long-term agreement. The only case in which the company might charge an early termination fee is when it places a merchant with an offshore provider. This is similar to the providers of the best merchant accounts.

Tiered Pricing

Easy Pay Direct lists a setup fee of $99, a monthly fee of $24.95, a swiped rate of 1.59% plus $0.17, a keyed-in rate of 2.39% plus $0.29, and an ACH rate of 1.6% plus $0.29 per transaction. Although we believe that interchange-plus pricing is more favorable to merchants than tiered pricing, there are no Easy Pay Direct complaints in which customers state that they feel deceived by its tiered pricing plan. In light of this information, we are awarding the company an “A” in this category for the time being, but Easy Pay Direct is not considered to be a provider of the cheapest merchant accounts.

Virtual Terminal and Payment Gateway Pricing

In addition to its storefront payment processing services, Easy Pay Direct also dedicates a portion of its website to advertising its virtual terminal and payment gateway services. However, pricing is not disclosed on either of those services. Additional rates and Easy Pay Direct fees, including gateway fees, technical support fees, batch fees, and additional transaction rates typically apply to these e-commerce services.

CBD Merchant Account Pricing

Easy Pay Direct also serves CBD, hemp, and other cannabis merchants with credit card processing services. However, rates for these accounts are different than those set for other merchant accounts. CBD merchants in the US are charged a monthly fee of $29.99 and a flat rate of 4.99% plus $0.29 per transaction. Canadian merchants are also charged a monthly fee of $29.99 but a lower rate of 3.95% plus $0.29 per transaction. Easy Pay Direct offers lower pricing to merchants based on transaction volume. The company also provides gateway services for these accounts.

Mixed Approach

Easy Pay Direct primarily utilizes a combination of an affiliate program, strategic partnerships, and in-house sales agents to market its services. The company does not employ independent sales staff, and there are no negative Easy Pay Direct reviews that mention the company’s sales team. This compares favorably to our list of best credit card processors.

Services for CBD and Hemp Merchants

According to the company’s website, Easy Pay Direct also specializes in proving merchant accounts to CBD and hemp companies doing business in the US and Canada. The company prides itself on serving these types of merchants since 2010. Businesses in the US are required to fulfill a monthly minimum of $100,000 in transactions, though no minimum is set for Canadian companies. The company advertises approvals for these types of accounts within 48 hours with processing of deposits within 24-48 hours.

No Deceptive Advertising

At the time of this review, some Easy Pay Direct rates are listed on their website along with a satisfaction guarantee that suggests both transparency and flexibility. However, If you suspect that Easy Pay Direct is charging you undisclosed fees, we recommend seeking a third-party statement audit to find and eliminate hidden fees. For now, we have awarded the company an “A” in this category.

Our Final Thoughts

A Solid Choice for Most Businesses

Easy Pay Direct rates as a reliable merchant services provider according to our criteria. The company resells the services of multiple processors, so its contract terms are likely to vary significantly from merchant to merchant. Easy Pay Direct is showing zero complaints across all consumer protection websites, a sterling record that has been in place since we first reviewed the company. Merchants are still advised to compare Easy Pay Direct’s terms to those of top-rated providers.

They were very easy to work with and the team is incredibly knowledgeable. After being kicked off stripe for being too high risk I went on the hunt for someone reliable. I learned many things through the process of signing up, such as companies like Stripe don’t actually give you a merchant account; you are using theirs. Which is part of why they can just shut you down randomly. If you are trying to scale a business quickly I highly recommend easy pay direct.

Where do I begin. They set me up and charges me fees to process, I never had a single charge back in the whole 3 months I processed, then I received a letter stating i only had 30 more days to process. They wasted my time and took fees galore then after my processor was closed they still still took gateway fees. So I asked for a refund and was told management declined to refund a whole 10.00 !!!! Its not about the money its about the time you have wasted of mine so in return I will waste some more time and in return your gonna lose potential customers. Charging a one time for 3 months of service is also a scam!!!
