However, it’s worth noting that there might be instances where reviews meant for GoEmerchant are mistakenly attributed to FAPS. Despite this possibility, there’s no evidence to confirm such occurrences. Share your own experience with GoEmerchant in the comments below.

GoEmerchant Fees, Rates & Costs

A Closer Look at The Contract

Cost & Fees Summary
Cancellation Penalties Yes
Monthly & Annual Fees Yes
Processing Rates 1.00% - 4.99%
Equipment Leasing Yes

Variable Contract Terms

GoEmerchant utilizes First American Payment Systems (FAPS) as its processor, known for its standard three-year service agreement. This agreement typically includes an early cancellation penalty of $495. However, GoEmerchant may offer flexibility in waiving these requirements for certain clients. While a complaint regarding a full $495 early termination fee exists, some businesses working with GoEmerchant may secure month-to-month agreements without any cancellation fees. It’s advisable to thoroughly review your merchant account agreement with GoEmerchant to ensure favorable terms for your business.

Virtual Terminal and Payment Gateway Pricing

Apart from its traditional storefront payment processing services, GoEmerchant promotes its virtual terminal and payment gateway services, highlighting their adaptability through a team of experienced developers. These services boast extensive features such as Apple Pay integration, recurring billing, and ACH eCheck acceptance, among others. However, specific pricing details for these services are not publicly disclosed. Typically, additional rates and fees, including gateway fees, technical support fees, batch fees, and extra transaction rates, apply to e-commerce services like those offered by GoEmerchant.

Other GoEmerchant Fees

GoEmerchant’s fees and pricing structure vary based on the specific services required by the client. It remains uncertain whether GoEmerchant imposes a PCI Compliance fee. Notably, a standard merchant agreement via FAPS typically includes an annual PCI compliance fee of $120, alongside non-cancellable equipment leases facilitated by its leasing affiliate, Merimac Capital. Limited available information on GoEmerchant’s pricing suggests it may not be as competitively priced as some of the more economical merchant account providers in the market. We invite readers to contribute any insights or information they have regarding GoEmerchant’s rates and fees in the comments section below.

GoEmerchant Employee Reviews & Sales Tacitcs

Should You Work For Them?

Jobs & Marketing Summary
Uses Independent Resellers Yes
Telemarketing Possible
Misleading Marketing Yes
Discloses All Important Terms No

Few Sales Complaints

GoEmerchant reviews online currently include a handful regarding its sales tactics, specifically concerning nondisclosure of monthly fees. The company also hires independent resellers, which would normally be a strike against it, but GoEmerchant’s compensation program does not appear to encourage price gouging like many others do in this industry.

This compares favorably to our list of best credit card processors.

Incomplete Rate Quotes

Overall, the company’s marketing strategy appears to be neither exceptionally transparent nor exceptionally deceptive. GoEmerchant advertises a rate quote “as low as 0.89%” per transaction on the Mobile Payments page of its website. This quote is misleading because it does not include the Mid-Qualified and Non-Qualified surcharges that a high percentage of transactions receive, or the fact that only a minuscule percentage of a merchant’s transactions would receive the 0.89% rate.

If you are concerned that GoEmerchant is overcharging you, you can spot hidden fees in your statement with a third-party statement audit.

Our GoEmerchant Review Summary

Our Final Thoughts

Even though GoEmerchant is a small provider, the company seems to be a solid credit card processing provider with a long track record of having few public complaints. GoEmerchant uses FAPS as its processor, so business owners would be wise to fully read and understand the company’s merchant account agreement before signing it. It should also be noted that “GoEmerchant.com” could be confused with “Gotmerchant.com,” a different company, in search results. Readers are encouraged to compare GoEmerchant’s pricing with that offered by top-rated credit card processors in order to obtain the best deal.

How Did GoEmerchant Treat You?

We didn’t have to sign a contract, I was told it was month to month and cancelable at any time. Our sales person said I was signing only for the equipment and the signing was done on a smart phone. Fees are much higher than quoted; the actual process accounting/batching process is performed at the GoE website after negiotiating several pages online and the site will time-out if not used regularly so the entire log-in (and several pages) is required several times a day; receipts are printed on your own printer so be prepared for additional printer ink and paper costs. It’s cumbersome. After a day we knew it wouldn’t work well in our office setting but they refused to cancel without a $495 cancellation fee. WATCH OUT.
