What Merchants Say
In addition to the 7 complaints posted to its BBB profile, Payline Data has also received 2 informal reviews. Both of these reviews are negative in tone. The most recent review describes deceptive rates:
I did an investigation on the rates I was getting and found I was not actually getting what rates were initially advertised. Received an offer from another company to beat their rates which Payline said they could match (after 3 weeks of daily emails and phone calls to my agent Zach.) I was told by a customer service rep I just need to sign the new agreement when it is sent over in a couple days and then it would be all set up. About 2 weeks later I was told my agent, Zach, changed his mind. In the beginning Zach was very responsive (about 2 years ago). Now it has been over 2 months with no returned call, no email and I have made over 30 attempts to get a hold of him. Talked to some very rude and indifferent customer service reps who invented reasons that made no sense (I didn’t make a monthly minimum in sales that was never mentioned as a prerequisite to a rate change, and they said I was making half of what was actual as per statements on their system). I finally spoke to one nice rep who explained they had been bought out by ********* ******** and they are having transitional problems. She gave me Zach’s new ********* ******** email and it has been over a week not still with no response from there. In summary: 1. Not getting rates as promised. 2. Promised to match rates of another company’s offer and renegged several weeks later with no real reason (the rate of which I believe was still more than the initial offer). 3. Horrible overall communication (ZERO response from account agent for months); and generally rude and unhelpful customer service. I will say the positives: – They had raised my monthly limit several times in the beginning with ease and they had better communication back then almost two years ago. – Little to no problems with gateway or settlements, functionality-wise.
In addition to the inaccurate rates, it appears that this merchant was not able to resolve their issue through the company’s customer service representatives. Achieving a resolution of problems like this is another reason merchant should review their options for providers who exemplify great customer service.
An “A” Rating
There are also two negative informal reviews posted to Payline’s BBB profile. Given this information, we agree with the BBB’s rating at this time.

Why I'm Qualified to Write About Credit Card Processing and Merchant Account Services
I'm a former credit card processing sales director who left the industry because I didn't like how it takes advantage of small business owners. It feeds like a leech on businesses and thrives by imposing fees that are nearly impossible to comprehend. Seeing a need for change, I left and built this website help business owners better understand the industry, research merchant services providers, and get refunds of excessive merchant account fees. My experience of working "behind the curtain" in the industry, and using that knowledge for good, has resulted in millions of dollars returned to hard-working small business owners as well as enterprise-level companies.
From the time that I starting working in the merchant services industry to when I left to create this website, I've been on the pulse of payments for nearly 15 years. It didn't seem fair to keep this "insider" knowledge to myself. To lift the fog, I've reviewed hundreds of companies, read thousands of user reviews, and learned the pricing tricks of every provider. If you have questions about credit card processing, you can find the answers on this website.
