Annoying Sales Calls

There are currently over 80 negative Sekure Merchant Solutions reviews online, many of which accuse the company of being a scam. By far the largest issue mentioned in Sekure Merchant Solutions’ complaints is the company’s telemarketing strategy, which they allege is generally aggressive, deceptive, and rude. Additional issues include extremely high cancellation fees, increased rates after signing, and difficulty canceling service. If you have your own Sekure Merchant Solutions review to make, please do so in the comments below.

Fake Review Claims

We have also found some positive testimonials about SekureCard’s services, although the validity of these reports is usually called into question by other reviewers. Some businesses have reported to us that SekureCard claims that “most of the reviews you see online are from other processors . There is allot of competition out there.” However, we have seen nothing to corroborate this claim.

SekureCard Lawsuits and Fines

In August 2018, SekureCard (DBA First Choice Payment Solutions) settled a class-action lawsuit in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois for $6,250,000. The settlement “resolves a lawsuit involving allegations that [SekureCard] made telemarketing calls from July 26, 2013, through February 1, 2018, on cellular telephone lines using an automatic telephone dialing system or artificial or prerecorded voice.” Businesses were eligible to file a claim if “between July 26, 2013 through February 1, 2018, [SekureCard] called you on a cellular telephone using an automatic telephone dialing system or prerecorded voice.” However, the filing deadline has officially passed.

Almost 80 Complaints

Sekure Merchant Solutions has been accredited by the Better Business Bureau since 2012. As of this review, the company has an “A+” rating with the BBB and has had 76 complaints filed against it in the last 36 months.

What Merchants Say

SekureCard has also received 199 informal reviews on its profile. The negative reviews have increased in recent months, mostly due to Sekure Merchant Solutions’ persistent telemarketing efforts. The most recent negative review describes unwanted telephone marketing:

I keep getting phone calls from these people saying that they are doing an analysis on my current account and want a statement emailed to them from our current carrier. I have told them several times that I am not interested. They call back over and over. NOT HAPPY LEAVE ME ALONE!

Clients in these situations would benefit from how to shut down sales calls, especially when the conduct of sales representatives becomes aggressive or turns into harassment.

A “C” Performance

In light of this information, we have adjusted the BBB’s rating to a “C.”

Sekure Merchant Solutions Fees, Rates & Costs

A Closer Look at The Contract

Cost & Fees Summary
Cancellation Penalties Yes
Monthly & Annual Fees Undisclosed
Processing Rates 1.00% - 4.99%
Equipment Leasing Yes

Long-Term Contract With Cancellation Fees

According to Sekure Merchant Solutions reviews, the standard Sekure Merchant Solutions rates and contract appear to involve a three-year agreement through North American Bancard with a Liquidated Damages early termination fee, expensive tiered pricing, and various other fees. We are unable to locate specifics about PCI Compliance fees or monthly minimum fees because these terms vary depending on a business’ size, business type, and time in business. It should be noted that we have found no evidence of SekureCard providing a merchant account through any other providers besides North American Bancard.

Beware Liquidated Damages

The primary factor lowering Sekure Merchant Solutions’ rating in this section is its apparent inclusion of a Liquidated Damages clause in its contracts. A Sekure Merchant Solutions fee for liquidated damages is calculated by taking either a set amount (sometimes about $25) or a business’ average monthly processing costs and multiplying that amount by the remaining months in a contract. This effectively forces a client to buy out the rest of the contract upon early cancellation, and it can cost business owners in excess of $900. We consider this type of fee to be excessive. SekureCard offers average to below-average contract terms in our assessment, and it is our belief that businesses would be better off looking for cheaper merchant account providers. We have accordingly lowered Sekure Merchant Solutions’ rating in this section.

Aggressive Telemarketing

Sekure Merchant Solutions appears to market itself primarily through telemarketing. The vast majority of Sekure Merchant Solutions complaints about the company cite aggressive, repeated sales calls from Sekure Merchant Solutions representatives, sometimes in defiance of clients’ requests to stop calling. This problem should be easily corrected, and the fact that it hasn’t been indicates a troubling lack of organization within the company. This does not compare favorably to our list of best credit card processors. However, a larger problem with Sekure Merchant Solutions has to do with how it represents itself.

There’s More To The Story

The Sekure Merchant Solutions website emphasizes the company’s mission to educate businesses and lower their rates, even including prompts for clients to undergo a free initial statement analysis. These websites generally push a message of business advocacy, presenting the company as more of a referral service than a sales organization. The trouble with this representation is that we have located multiple sources online indicating that Sekure Merchant Solutions is simply a reseller of North American Bancard’s merchant services rather than an independent rate review service. If this is the case, then Sekure Merchant Solutions is going to great lengths to paint itself as something it is not. There is currently no mention of North American Bancard on the Sekure Merchant Solutions website, and the company does not disclose at any point that it is affiliated with any particular processor. Some clients have reported receiving service from both Global Payments and North American Bancard through Sekure Merchant Solutions, but North American Bancard is simply a reseller of Global Payments.

Expect Only One Option

As far as we are able to determine at this time, Sekure Merchant Solutions’ primary mission is to sell North American Bancard contracts, and business owners should keep this in mind when they receive a call from the company. We also encourage businesses to check out our list of the providers of the best merchant accounts.

Our Sekure Merchant Solutions Review Summary

Our Final Thoughts

Sekure Merchant Solutions rates as a slightly worse-than-average credit card processing provider according to our rating system. The company appears to market itself very deceptively, as all available evidence indicates that it is a North American Bancard reseller rather than a business advocacy/referral agency. The company’s contract terms are also apparently very costly. Sekure Merchant Solutions is showing an increasing number of online complaints, and business owners will likely be better served by a top-rated overall merchant account provider.

They call us everyday, multiple times a day. VERY pushy and they like to name drop like they’ve spoken to our owner or manager. However, I am the only one that answers the phone. They call back same day and say they spoke to another person and was told something when it’s me they talked to and I never said anything. Now they are faxing us requests which include for us to take a picture of our processing statements and send it to them. When they call, they keep saying they are “missing one document”. I asked them what document they are missing or what documents they have and they have no answer. I am tired of the calls.

They are liars and held me to a 3-year contract they said I signed but it turns out this information was not in the contract that I signed, this information was in the fine lines of the terms and conditions they said I clicked on and accepted. Not sure how is legal to hold a business hostage for 3 years of fees for unused services (over 3K in fees for services not provided) due to a legality that should not be legal. Terms and conditions should not be used to scam customers and our government is doing nothing to protect us, the consumers.

File a complaint with your states Attorney Generals Office and the Federal Trade Commission. They won’t stop until they are in a class action lawsuit again. They had to pay out 6.25 million on the last one. They won’t get shut down if we don’t contact the correct agencies to get them put in check.

The contract was signed on 4/29/2020, and charges began on 6/2/2020, in November 2020 Sekure had already more than doubled my fees to $77.92, and I never received notice by email or by mail. I realized I could have logged into the portal which by the way I never received an email giving me instructions to do so. Or a monthly email saying that if I logged in I would see my statements.

Even though I was promised monthly statements over the phone when I spoke with your salesperson Mr. Lambrini because that was my #1 complaint with my prior credit card processor.

Then Covid hit, I had to deal with kids at home for school, tons of clients needing extra help during Covid, and other family issues I will mention in court. Still me not catching this sooner does not negate all the illegal practices of this firm.

I was never contacted and falsely believed Sekure was processing some of my client’s credit card charges for me but they were not. Since I used QBD all my clients were mostly billed through them, so I was paying them to process my credit card fees NOT Sekure.

The increase in the monthly charge was disguising the fees, IF I had seen a $20-25 monthly charge I would have known Sekure was NOT processing credit charges at all but because Sekure increased without notice I misunderstood the charges. I see on Google Reviews that I was not the only one.

My credit card companies and my banks always email me and mail notices when there is a change in fee structure. The fact that I signed a contract and was told I had a guarantee that my rates would not go up (I have the email to prove it) and within months Sekure did, reflect the predatory system of this company and I will not rest until I get my full refund or take them to court for my fees and legal fees incurred in the process. If anyone else wants to join the lawsuit please email me.

Don’t let the bogus A+ score fool you. This company is a FRAUD. They told me a flat fee of $50 a month. After a couple months I got a charge of $97.75 which was never explained to me why because honestly I don’t think the people who answer the phone even know. This month it was $243.20. I stopped payment at my bank and told Sekure to end my contract as they are taking money out of my account that has no bearing whatsoever in what I signed up for. I’ll take them to court if I have to. 100% FRAUD. Don’t know how they’re getting away with ripping people of unabashedly. Shameful!

    Sekure Payment Experts

Same complaint and experience as many others. These guys are typical scammers.

I recently had a rather frustrating experience with Sekure Merchant’s payment services, and I feel compelled to share my thoughts in this review. My interaction with them left me deeply dissatisfied, to say the least.

I was initially approached by Sekure payments experts who were quite pushy in convincing me to sign up for their product. They assured me that I wouldn’t be charged anything directly and that my clients would cover the processing fees, effectively relieving me of merchant fees. Encouraged by their promises, I decided to give their service a try.

However, my experience with Sekure Merchant took a nosedive from there. The feedback I received from both my clients and my staff regarding their services was far from positive. It was evident that their system did not meet the expectations we had been given during the sales pitch. As a result, I made the decision to stop using their service temporarily, with the intention of revisiting it later once any issues had been resolved.

To my utter shock and disappointment, I discovered that despite not processing a single transaction, I had been charged over $1200 in fees. No one from Sekure Merchant had reached out to inform me about the inactivity on my account or the accumulating charges. This lack of communication was already a significant cause for concern.

When I reached out to their customer support, I spoke with an individual named Leidy Rico. However, even she couldn’t provide me with basic information, such as the name of the company’s CEO. This lack of transparency and knowledge about their own organization raises serious questions about their professionalism.

Furthermore, I requested to speak with Leidy Rico’s supervisor, Moe Graham, hoping for a resolution to my issues. Regrettably, Ms. Graham not only refused to connect me with her supervisor but also failed to mention anything about a potential refund for the unused services and exorbitant fees I had incurred.

My overall experience with Sekure Merchant has been extremely upsetting. It is disheartening to do business with a company that appears to lack ethical values and customer service standards. Their pushy sales tactics, unfulfilled promises, lack of communication, and refusal to address concerns adequately have left me deeply dissatisfied and disappointed. I would strongly caution anyone considering their services to think twice and explore other options.

Sekure Merchants are Scammers!! Do not do business with them!! They will charge you fees even after you close your account. They even had me paying for a service that was never set up for over 2 years. Would not give me a return- just kept charging me. I had to set up fraud protection on my bank account to stop them!!

We were told our old cc machines were out of date, so my husband try to update machines, and they told him to push the Cash key, and they now owe us over a months worth of sales, and nobody, ever calls back or answers our email. What a mess, we need our money for new inventory, Natural Health Works

Well, before setup an account with Sekure, they are on top of everything, they call you every day 3 ,4 times to make speed the process.
they teach you how to use a machine, and ready to go.
they say once you receive payments, will be deposited a day later.
guess what my first to transaction are on hold for first batch… what is that, and I am here calling them hearing a machine saying in 45 seconds we will be with you….. 4 hours later same thing…..
do not even try this company

The customer service is the worst ! The system will stop working and there will be no one available to rectify the problem . You can call 5 different phone numbers, and hold for hours with no response. The live chat will end conversation in mid conversation. Horrible!

  • Gail

This is a terrible company. The entire credit card processing goes down for days at a time, so you must have a backup for accepting Credit cards at your business. The terminals randomly update software, then don’t work until you call customer service. The software is glitchy and random errors occur weekly. Customer service is only available M-F during whatever their hours are. We have been waiting for a callback since Friday morning and now it is Saturday afternoon. Our business is open 7 days a week. I can’t warn you enough not to use this company

  • Kim Ratliff

Don’t freaking do it. I have been hit with $60 monthly fees that were never discussed. Only to find out that I just got hit for $198. I plan to dispute this charge and block them from collecting anything else. I cannot believe how many lies that they piled on to make this sound like a good deal. They need to be shut down

  • Kristina Ernst

    Westtown Fare Restaurant

Do not be taken by this company. They are liars and care nothing about small business owners. Terrible equipment, terrible technical support and then cancellation fees that were not made clear in the application process. Stop before you too get suckered like I did.

  • Dipo

Salesperson lied about fees and how much we would be saving to get us interested. He tried to get us to just sign the contract without reading but as we looked into it there was about $60 in monthly fees that he didn’t mention, the percent was higher than what we currently pay, he would not give us a straight answer on contract term and cancelation fees so we said we were not interested.
They now proceed to call us 7+ times a day telling us the card companies are going to increase their rates on us or our system is going to die soon so we need to act now. Tell this company no right off the bat unless you want to be annoyed from 7am to 6pm with calls. Seems like they are also paying for fake google reviews.

These people are SCAMMERS and LIARS. They sold me on the fact that i was paying no fees or anything else, and the customer was paying all of the processing fees. Everything was recorded and they should listen to what they sold me. Do not trust what these people tell you, next they started charging me fees. I called to ask what the fees were for, and they came up with a unique story of course. I tried to cancel from them and told me that i could not, to try it another month. I blocked these people from my bank account so they could not take advantage of me anymore. I never signed anything with these people and now they are telling me i own them $800 for cancelling their service. I want to report this company to the proper authorities. They are a fraudulent company running scams

  • Brent Davis

Sekure called from 855-547-8953 saying our processing terminal had an End of Life chip in it. Said they were calling on behalf of our processing company. I asked what was the company name, but stated they were an independent contractor. She asked for the type of terminal I was using at the business, I said if you had that information you would know. I declined and was getting upset I wouldn’t provide the information. The name she provided was Helen at extension 125.

Verify with your processor before giving any information about your terminal you use. They might be able to hack it with the serial numbers, etc.

  • Zack Aver

Having worked there for less than 2 weeks, I can tell you that they are as bad, if not worse than what you read about. You can be hired, and working on the phone without ever actually knowing what you are trying to sell.(Or how it works, like fees and such.) The smirks and laughing some(not all) will do when someone hangs up, and they mark them as a call-back in three months, should make you sick. The morning meetings were like the management trying to cosplay J.T. Marlin employees(2000 film Boiler Room), or Jordan Belfort. Pathetic.

There was loud music running all the time, which is probably another Boiler Room tactic to hide their location (Their company headquarters are located in New York, but they operate out of Montreal, Quebec.), or factory farm conditions. You’re not in a cage, but with rows of cubicles with meat coming in, and meat getting fired, it’s hard to not see it that way.

Even though during my stay I didn’t get many leads, and ultimately got fired for it, I don’t think I could have more than one pay check on my conscience. A lot of people I called had upwards of 20+ calls a day from places like this. A few were even begging us to stop. Since they didn’t say the Magic Words “PUT ME ON YOUR DO NOT CALL LIST.” exactly more than THREE TIMES, you would get recycled into the system AGAIN.

These average people couldn’t afford to not pick up the phone, since their business relied on it. They were cattle being preyed upon.

Companies like this should not exist.

  • Bill Mineweaser

Bugged me every day. I finally signed up with the promise of ZERO MONTHLY FEES. Even before our terminal arrived we were charged $9.95. I informed the person I was talking to we wanted to cancel service. Now nothing but, crickets after calling EVERY DAY. Very Very shady AVOID.

  • toni spiotta

I would just like to say that Virgilio ROCKS!!!!! he has been such a great help for me over the past few weeks,,,,, even with all our set backs lol he helped me convert my machines !!! i hope your company knows they truly have an asset with Virgilio!!!!

  • Gary Brazzell

I have been working with them for about a year. Yes, they are just a sales arm for North American Bancard, and North American Bancard is the worst credit card processor I have ever worked with. Their representation in charge disputes is worse than useless. They do not provide the information needed, speak in non-sense language, and flat lie about what their own reports say. Now they are putting me in 100% credit hold (holding all my money) because I am exceeding a charge limit. The charge limit is in print nowhere and is 85% of what my application said were my monthly routine charges! The process of notification and appeal came through an email asking me to email my bank statement to an email address that did not have any company name I am working with – some unknown email address. I had to start a live chat with the Payments Hub portal (whoever they are) to verify the request was legit. What kind of credit card company emails out of the blue asking for sensitive information to be emailed to an unknown address like that? A bad one.

  • Andrea Camp

I too, fell into this crap trap. Told credit card processing device was free, just had to pay shipping and handling of it. I was not properly informed of monthly fees by “agent”; he said it would be .03% of what was made that month. Totally not the real case. After quicky finding out it was not user friendly, I went through all the correct steps by given “agent” to cancel EVERYTHING; all this done within same month of October 2020 (set up and cancel). And he, the agent said everything was taken care of. Needless to say, I get a phone call in January2021, that I am in collections for $373 oustanding bills due to North American Bancard for the months of November, December, and January. I try to call to get everything settledm, just to find out that I fall into a looping run around with having to call Sekure Merchants to “terminate contract”……. WTH???? AND, there was an early termination fee of $775…. I had no idea!!!!! That so-called “agent” said nothing about this in the many conversations we had over a span of 4 weeks over the phone. So, I try to call Sekure Merchants to see of they will waive the $775 because we lost over half our members to the gym due to COvid19, just to NOONE answering the phone! “What a nice little set up they have going on!” I thought. Can’t get anyone to answer phone to waive fee, or just told someone will have to call you back…. so, now Im stuck paying 373 PLUS a cancelation fee of 775 for something I didn’t even use, and was lied to and intentionally misguided into thinking I had canceled everything in October!

  • Derek Farago

Sales agent sold me on a plan, saying I get a free device, and there are no monthly fees. My first statement comes out and I get charged $25 processing fee and $10 software fee. Sekure kept reassuring me that their customer service was top-notch and the agent would be personal to my case and my only point of contact. I reach out and she was NOWHERE to be found. I got bounced around to different agents, trying to cancel. I was then told cancellation could take up to 30 days and now I’m being charged FOR A WHOLE MONTH THAT I DIDNT MAKE A SINGLE TRANSACTION. This company is a scam and will rip you off. Go with Square instead. Sekure’s software was glitchy and not user friendly, they say they will give excellent service but get rid of you after you have signed and agreement and they take your money. I am VERY disappointed.

  • jim delaplaine

Pushy telemarketing calls, unreliable service, and misleading about the fees to cancel service. Plan on spending a LONG time on hold when dealing with constant processing problems, and plan to have your bank account debited when you discontinue using their services. Very dissatisfied.

  • B

we recently signed with this company, but has keep on insisting that i give them copies of our statements. they are pushy. Is there a way to back out of this company?

  • Kei

This company is very misleading. The sales will say anything to get your business. First they will lure you in with $5k promotion for processing fee. But it is not $5000 worth of the processing fee. It is $5k worth of the rate you have, which my rate was $.05 and came out to $100 credit only. The sales did not make this clear and told me their system integrates with my POS, which it did not. They did not do anything to clear the above and the customer relation response is very bad also.

When I signed up with SekureCard, they showed me all the low costs and savings. But when I saw additional charges that were taken out, my costs ended up over 4% at the end of the month. Called and asked why, and was told that some cards have points, which are taken out of my bank to cover the card holders points. Some cards have double points and that too is charged to me. When I tried to get out, they said your contract is for 3 years and to get out you will pay us $400.00, even when the contract says $295.00, they said it includes other fees. Very scary company to deal with after being with the for 2 years 6 months. Beware of fees. You lose.

Aggressive sales people. After saying “not interested” and “no” at least 8 times in 2 separate phone calls and hanging up on them both times, they then resorted to sending emails to a different person in my office asking them to convince me to go with them. Also did not represent themselves as telemarketers for North American Bank. That was just the best deal for now.

I have been in business for over 20 years, we are an IT consulting company. I have worked with a few different credit card processors over the years and Sekure Merchant Solutions has by far been the worst when it comes to customer service and following through on promises. As many of the other reviews stated they called me many times over the course of 2 – 3 years trying to get us to switch over to them, they made a lot of promises about saving us lots of money, free equipment, no hidden fees, etc. Finally they convinced me they had the perfect solution that would allow us to switch over to them seamlessly and effortlessly, no monthly fees, no minimums, etc. After we switched I found the equipment they sent did not work with our accounting system at all the way they said it would, nor could they find a solution. Also the guy who sold it to me all of the sudden would not return my calls or emails. Then after 6 months I found out I was being charge $87.87 a month in fees for $25.00 Monthly Minimum Processing Fee, $29.95 PCI Compliance Fee, $14.95 Premium Merchant Portal Access, $15.00 Statement Fee. Even after I finally found a way to start processing with them and ran $25k through in the first month they still charged me a Monthly Minimum Processing Fee of $11.95 saying that wasn’t enough!! After about 50 phone calls and emails I got to the point where I was processing with them but still to this day I am dealing with all kinds of issues, I was turned over to collections for equipment for a 2nd account they opened that I didn’t even know about under my name, they refunded about half of the fees they charged me but they said it didn’t matter if I was using the account or not it was my responsibility to understand the fees being charged, even though I never received any calls or statements or anything from them, even though the system they guaranteed me to work didn’t work at all and I couldn’t even use it, even though the sales rep told me there was no fees!! I have most of this in writing in emails and sent it to them and they told me that it didn’t really matter what the sales rep told me because I signed the agreement that stated all of these fees. Overall this has been a terrible experience, 100% bait and switch, do not fall for the harassive techniques in convincing you to sign up and promising you everything is going to work great, your sales rep is gone shortly after you sign and you are transferred to a different department that tells you everything your sales rep said is not correct. Also, over the 2 – 3 years they were calling me I had a few different sales reps, they all told me and promised me the same things, after the 6 months had passed and I tried to get this fixed they connected me with another sales rep who was great and said she would get it all fixed up and taken care of, then she disappeared again just like the previous guy who sold me and now I am done….

I could not agree more. This just happened to me. I was better off before. By the way, even when you talk to a representative and promise you that there are no contracts or terms and that you can cancel anytime is not true. The contract you end up signing does not mention terms but they did include a link which takes you to fourteen pages of small writing in which a clause is contained where it says you are agreeing to 36 month contract. These pages were not even mentioned by the representative and are not available when you sign the contract. You literally have to copy and paste the link in order for the “terms” to pop-up. Very deceptive and predatory practice. Representatives are nice but they do know very well what they are signing their customers into. Do not be deceived. They also charged me $800 dollars due to early termination which by the way they do not tell you when you call. They will not even warn you that you deceptively signed a predatory contract and that you are going to receive a letter charging you for early termination fees. Also, I received two separate labels to return the terminal and printer device with a ship to address different from the one stated on the letter where I should return the equipment. You have ten days to return the equipment or else you will be charged. This is the first time I actually post something of this nature.

They emailed me, unsolicited, posing as someone interested in utilizing my business for an event. This pose was sustained for a few emails until the totally unrelated sales pitch was thrown at me. After saying I wasn’t interested, they persisted. They then insulted me. No wonder they get terrible reviews. Do not reward them with your business.

I was using Sekure Merchant Solutions up until 2 weeks ago and switched because they were more expensive than my new company. I have disconnected with them for processing but have been unable to get rid of them for the monthly service fees. Everytime I have called, I have either been told I need to speak with a certain person and they do not return calls or the latest rude person I spoke with, threatened me with an early termination fee. What the fee is, I do not know because she never emailed the termination form or notification of fees that were promised. At this point, even if they were to save me money, I would not use them ever again.

I was contacted by Christina Burke and of course the rates were better. When the comparative anaylsis was done it looked great. When the Merchant application came I had several questions regarding specific issues and now no one will respond to my questions. Christina told me that I would have my own representative and would only talk with a person which I could understand…. as that is an issue with Payeezy. That being said apparently I have requested to many things and asked for this all to be in writing before signing any Merchant application because now my zealous Christina is now unresponsive. Go Figure.

I was just harassed by a man on the phone calling my coworker classless and that she doesn’t know what she was talking about before he hung up on me. Apparently she told him no multiple times and he kept calling her back until she picked up another line and I picked up the phone. I am still in shock someone trying to sell us something would treat us this way.

Company was very pushy. They kept calling and would not let me discontinue their services during the trial period. Finally got the confirmation of closure of the account and thought it was a done deal. Months later I get a bill for merchant services not paid by the the bank card they use. Basically they did not close the account till months later even with confirmation to the contrary. I would not advise using this company for your credit card processing needs.

Sekure Card Services dba Sekure Cost Review called in spite of us being on no call list. Much smoother than average telemarketer,so beware. According to all the posted reviews I read, this company lies to get one to sign up and then the scam really begins. Avoid them like the Egyptian Plague. This lady was so nice in tone, actually spoke English as a primary language, that I could not be rude to her. I must be losing my touch.Gave the phone number of 855-547-8953, ext.125

Sekure’s telemarketers called daily for weeks wanting to evaluate our credit card services. We had just had a price increase with our existing processing company. We decided to let Sekure give us a quote. They called daily sometimes two and three times a day. We decided since their quote was less than our existing company we would use their service—Bad mistake, the second month rates were much higher than the quote and even higher than the company before them. Customer service is horrible–they will not return calls or emails. The telemarketer that conned me into using Sekure said I could call him anytime and he would always be available to help. That’s a joke—- I have called repeatedly and left messages for him to call back. Since we decided to use Sekure I have not been able to speak to him or any other customer service agent…….

This company is the worst! Zero stars. They called my office to see if we were interested in switching over to them. I tried to be polite at first, but after repeatedly telling them that we were not at all interested in switching from our current merchant services provider, they continued to spam us with phone calls EVERY DAY, sometimes multiple times a day. The same person each time, telling me the same thing each time. And each time I would tell her that we were not interested. I felt like I was trapped in Ground Hog’s Day. Even after asking her to please not call back again (and my boss also telling her we weren’t interested), she continued to call!! Unbelievable. At this point, no matter what kind of deals they could offer me, I would never consider going with this company. Ever. Completely unprofessional.

What a miserable, lying bunch of telemarketers. They ignore do not call lists. They lie about “what they can do for you”. Want you to give them personal information. Continue to call harass. A grade of F- would be too high for these scam artists. Need to be investigated by New York A.G.

  • Stacie Rawlinson

After telling this woman that I would consider giving them a chance to quote our credit card processing, she became insistent that I stop what I was doing and send her all the information immediately. I told her I was busy at the moment and would try to find time later in the week. She has proceeded to call and berate me several times a day. After I told her to go away and stop calling, she has started trying to go over my head and call the owner. Do not give these people one minute of your time. They must work on commission and are starving to death. They are like vultures.

  • Jon

Horrible, they promise things to close the sale but once they set you up on NAB processing it’s a mess. Zero customer service and they are holding our cards asking for bank statements. Took hours on the phone to get them to refund the charges so I can run them through my previous processing service. Can’t get much worse

  • PR

Super shady repeated phone calls, trying to act like we already do business with them. Called multiple times after I requested to be put on do not call list. Used scare tactics with my employees to get me on the phone..

  • Erin F.

This scam company, specifically one of their telemarketers who calls herself “Houda”, has been repeatedly harassing me on a semi-daily basis. Even after telling her clearly I was not interested in anything she was trying to sell me, she continued to call me, not once, not twice, but three or four more times until finally giving up (for today.) How this company could ever think they would gain business by aggressively harassing potential customers is beyond me. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

  • Dave Armando

After being hounded for a year I had to resort to just hanging up. Michael L…. was so pushy and would not listen to what I said or respect my wishes I assume the company would be equally abrasive so we switched our current processer to another company whose salesperson was / is a pleasure to deal with. I hope this review ends the harassing calls while I’m trying to service my own customers. Word of advise, don’t bother being polite with these guys JUST HANG UP.

  • Dan The Man

One of their reps called me and said they are just a reviewing company and offer a free service to review all the merchant accounts and compare it with my account. She pressed and pressed to get my fax or email account but I said over and over I do not give it out. She offered to have me speak to a manager but I kept saying no I do not give out personal information to solicitors. The fact is they are a single merchant service provider and are lying to people about the free service. She even said they have an excellent rating with the BBB. Not true.

  • Fran

RUN AWAY – After relentless sales calls to me went unanswered, the predatory calls went to my office manager. She listened to the pitch and said it would be worth my time. It all sounded great. It was going to be easy to switch and we were going to save a significant amount of money. It was not easy to switch. The first machine would not batch automatically at the end of the day like our old machine so payments were not getting processed. The rep said that it should batch automatically, but just do it manually. We asked for a new machine. When they set us up again, the machine processed the sales, but the SekureMerchant transposed our account number so the money was not deposited. It took a lot of time and effort to work with SekureMerchant (a reseller of North American Bancard.) and the bank. It took entirely too much time and effort to resolve on our part and caused use some cash flow stress. The make matter’s worse the communication between Sekure and NA Bancard was poor and neither would take responsibility. When we expressed our displeasure, we got a rude response.

  • Laurie

Has anyone else received this same information? Can anyone validate they work with these companies? (All but Starbucks are actually franchises)

As per our telephone conversation I’m including a few links concerning Sekure Merchant Solutions (Sekure), which is us, and North American Bancard (NAB), which would be your processing company.

North American Bancard (NAB) is a registered merchant services provider and is ISO of Global Payments Inc. with VISA and MasterCard for HSBC Bank USA, N.A., Buffalo, NY and Wells Fargo Bank, N.A., Walnut Creek, CA.
Founded in 1992 by CEO/President Marc Gardner, it is headquartered in Troy, Michigan. Its corporate office employs roughly 900 people. As a merchant services provider, NAB’s payment solutions include: credit, debit, EBT, check conversion and guarantee, ATM, gift and loyalty cards, and online payment solutions. The company currently processes over $34 billion per year in electronic transactions for over 300,000 merchants in all 50 states.

As of January 2017, Sekure Merchants has surpassed 20,000 merchant accounts signed up through our brokerage services, including Ace Hardware, YMCA/YWCA, Dunkin Donuts, Quality Inn, Econolodge, Roto-Rooter, Carl’s Jr. to mention a few.

I hope we can include you in our portfolio of satisfied customers; we take pride in our competitive pricing and excellent customer service.

  • Annoynmous

I’ve worked there for over two years as a rep and let me tell you something,it’s getting old..our pitch has got to go, it doesn’t give lots of information and it’s very deceptive because we do work with one processor, that’s why everyone’s analysis comes back with the same results, that American bancard is the lowest. The managers are absolutely horrible over there and our weekly objectives are hard to obtain most days, can’t make the dough calling the same people all the time. A lot of us reps are actually usually nice like myself, our boss tells us to be more aggressive and to not take no for an answer. They need to change the work ethic over there.. don’t waste your time. We are based out of Montreal, you could even google the sekure cost review and find the address and street view with google maps. If this company wasn’t so full of bologna maybe their employees wouldn’t feel the need to come and post the truth.

  • Peggy Mogush

Cold call from a man asking for person in charge of our credit card processing, stated he was from Sekure Merchant Services. I figured it was yet another sales call so I said “We’re not interested, thank you.” and hung up. LESS THAN ONE MINUTE LATER the phone rings again. This time a female, “May I speak to the person in charge of your credit card processing?” I said “Oh, are you the people that just called here?” She responded “This is so and so from Sekure Merchant Services.” I said “Oh, you ARE the people that just called here, and I told you we are not interested.” And hung up. With sales activities like that, a company I would never trust.

  • Laurie

I’m just trying to get them to stop calling. Wow, the phone rep will not answer any questions. The rep keeps talking about a “mandate” and regulations they will verify…attempt at scare tactics, super crazy.

  • Andy

I would steer clear of this company…strong inclination they may be an equipment leasing company or someone with strong ties to them and trying to go back after their clients for their processing accounts..some merchants were told they would get a overall rate of 1.2% but was really set up at 120 basis points over interchange which cost them much more money. Merchants are switching back after seeing the first months bill. Usually they have to close their checking account too so they don’t bill them an undisclosed fee for early termination. STAY AWAY AND SAVE YOUR SELF THE NIGHTMARE.

  • David

Received a call from the company asking to compare rates. I let them, and sure enough they were able to offer a lower rate than what I was paying. I decided to make the switch as I was comfortable with using North American Bankcard as a processor. Set up was easy and everything went fine… That was until they decided to change their fees while under contract. In my contract there weren’t supposed to be any annual fees, but sure enough I got charged with one. When I called to correct the issue I was told that it wasn’t possible that my contract stated no annual fees (I still have my contract). I told them they violated the contract and they need to either correct it or cancel my service. They eventually canceled my service and charged me nearly $650 in cancellation fees. It’s not worth my time to take them to court, but I will never do business with this company again, they are garbage.

  • Dee

I got one call and an email. If I was interested I would have responded. Duhh. While working I received about 8 calls a day for several days. I finally answered out of frustration. They had all my personal information and the guy would hardly let me speak. I thought I would think about the numbers he had to offer but his nasty attitude overshadowed the whole experience. Simply put the experience was nothing more than rude solicitations that I didn’t even ask for.

  • A Goettle

Awful pushy and persistent. I’ve received at least 5 calls in the past week all during all of which I’ve asked for more information through email. After I finally received the email, I was called to verify I’d received it (which I did and responded with a request to be removed) and I said , “Yes and I replied and said that we weren’t interested and to remove us from your list.” She then proceeded to try and sell/tell me all the great benefits again at which point I hung up.

  • Todd

When I told them I was going to review the information and we would let them know in our own time if we were interested or not, Lee Cassidy at extension 134 insulted me by saying I was not smart enough to see the great deal they were offering and then hung up on me.

  • Mike Schwartz

Trying to be as pragmatic as possible, I understand everyone’s complaints about their sales tactics. GOT IT! However, while persistent, they never treated me to bad. In the end, I sent them my rates which I know are really, really low and they beat them. I am waiting to sign, and doing more due diligence but so far they are proposing a lower rate period.

So do I care that they are really just representing NorthAmerican? I really don’t care since they Sekure is who I contact for support.
Most if not all of the comments here relate to sales NOT actual customer experiences, which is unfortunate for those like me who can get past
the sales crap and just look at better rates.

If I do move ahead, I will certainly let folks know how my experience is.

Companies reps lie and say they’re based out of NY but are infact located in Mtl, Canada. They resell for a processor called North American Bancard, also known as NAB. They have very poor customer service. They also lie and say that their rates are guarnteed for 3 years when they’re not. Don’t do business with tgem. Stay away. Buyer beware.

    • Mike Schwartz

Mike, what are you basing your information on? I am thinking of going with them and they do put in writing that they guarantee their rates. But you say they are not really. So what are you basing that comment on? I hate to press, but so many comments in here are based on very general statements without any discussion about how you conclude your information. I received a phone call from Don from Sekure Merchants Solutions today. Giving me the same information as the previous clients have given. I was told that I would be put in with us with other merchants to get us the prices to do our processing. He said he talked to me back in October, but I don’t remember talking to them. May have been by another name. He also told me the same as Chloe Jones that they would put us with other companies worth $5 to $20 million in monthly processing to get us lower rates. I have heard this before and I told him I wasn’t interested. I have gone through this man;y times and have always gone back to the processor we have. I know that we may pay a few dollars more than what they say we will be saving with them but I know somewhere’s down the line we will slowly creep up and pay the same or different fees with them. I did tell him I am not interested but he still wants me to fax over a copy of our most recent statement so they can give me a review of all the savings they can give us. I will tell him no today and see what happens from there. If I don’t send it to him by 2 pm today he will call me to find out why and to see if I am going to send it to have them process it. I think I will stand clear of this company. More bad review vs good. Myself and our company don’t need the hassle and lies.

  • Robert Skolnik

Harassing phone calls. I finally answered phone and requested information – agent hung up on me. DANGER signal. What happened to no-phone solicitation? This company is an example of why these regulations are necessary.

    • Jean

So many phone calls! Then the last call came up as a private number…they had to switch it up because I was blowing the other calls off
from caller ID. He’s nice as pie when I answer and I said that we were not interested…so he hangs up.. If I could reach my hand through the
phone I would have. What a scam!!! Do not waste your time or energy on them. I had asked previously to have our number removed from the
      list…that just increased the calls!

  • Shawn

Looks like they are marketing themselves as “Sekure Cost Review” now. Maybe they had too many poor reviews with the ‘Secure’ spelling. They are pushy to the extreme. They refuse to accept ‘no’ as an answer and will talk you into either hanging up on them (must be a badge of honor) or succumbing to the dark side. Stay away. Period. If you go with these guys you deserve everything that is coming your way, and it probably won’t be lower rates and top notch customer service.

  • Mike Hadley

I was offered $5000 to sign with them + a lower rate than I have now, even though they don’t know what my rate is. When I told the caller he must think I am stupid, he went off on a rage! I spoke with supervisor & made sure she knew to not ever contact me or my company again. I thought I had heard it all after 26 years in business. This company takes the cake! The fax they sent me says the company is Secure Cost Review. They had actually called so many times over the last week or so that my employees had become irritated, especially with their rudeness.

    • Michael Vincent

      Mike,
They don’t need to know your current rate. In May I sent them my April statement and they came back with a proposal that was about 20% lower. On July 20 they called me and said NBA lowered its rate and they sent me a new proposal that was lower. I replied to them that I had since changed processors. I sent them the previous month’s new processor’s statement and they came back lower. Two proposals, one week apart substantially different. As a result of this plus their aggressive sales pitch, I don’t trust them.

I was contacted by this company and said that I would provide a report to them the next morning. Then I received some projects with deadlines and some important phone calls that required my immediate attention. The company called me back a couple times a day. When I was finally free for a moment to take the call, I apologized for not getting my report to them. Doris Kappa was snotty and condescending that I really did have projects that were a priority. I hung up at that point. I don’t need to be bullied by a sales person. She then sent me an email “Judy, it may not be your priority but it is mine. When you say you are interested in and will send the merchant statement by the end of the day get everything ready so when I get the document I start work on the calculation right away to send it to you as soon as possible! it seems easy task for you maybe but it is not for us. ” I have no time for these people! Rude & pushy.

  • Alan Leishman

I get calls daily even though I made it clear that I would get back to them with my decision. They call 4 to 5 times a day. Extremely pushy. For this reason I will not do business with them. If their services are as good as they claim they should not have to badger people for business, At this point I don’t care how good their rates are. I just want them to go away.

  • lisa

NON STOP phone calls. I’m looking for a complaint number now and figured I’d write this too. Very pushy and rude. Talk to me like I was stupid, when really I knew what was really going on!!! Scam.

  • Mary

I requested follow up information from my first call, which was promised. I then received repeated, overly aggressive, almost combative calls from sales reps. I told them multiple times to stop calling me and they stopped for a few months. Now, I am getting daily calls from a very rude man who was continuing to argue as I hung up, insisting they weren’t trying to sell us anything. Stay very far away from this company.

  • Aaron

I had a called from them a few days ago, saying that my rate has gone up, and that they could give me a lower rate. They wouldn’t leave me alone until I took a look at the analysis, that bugged me the most, since I didn’t want to hear their calls anymore and I am only a small business.. I asked them to send me an email. They sent one. I thought about it, a few days later..I sent them a recent statement that they needed to do the analysis. A few days later I received my analysis and I was greatly appreciated by it, they got to lower my rate by a lot, close to .80%! I mean, it did sound sketchy at first, because I am thinking why are they calling me on a phone, couldn’t they at least walk-in? But at the same time, they are just brokers, and they shop for lower rates for businesses…no harm done.

  • MK

We received a cold call from a salesman requesting our credit card sales information. We took his email and told him we’d send it to him when we got a chance, have received four calls in two business days asking when the email would be sent. I asked him to stop calling and he called back immediately. I definitely believe the review from the woman who worked for the company saying many of the people there were high, this man definitely had the angry mood swings of an addict.

  • Rena Capuan

This company is based in Montreal and the people working there are all from Montreal, they only target the USA and not canada. It is very obvious there is something fishy in the way they do business! I worked there for half a day, I was disgusted and I could see how horrible this company does business.
My advise for you is to say “stop these calls or I will REPORT you” this is the only way they would remove you off the calling list.
    I hope this helps..

    • laurie

I asked them if they were a US based company and asked them about some of the complaints. This was their reply:

We do have an office in Montreal as well !

I sent you links that you could look at to do your correct due diligence , most of the reviews you see online are from other processors . There is allot of competition out there.

We had to let go of some employees because they were dishonest and after we let them go this is what they go ahead and write , once again they are being dishonest . This is because they were unhappy we let them go .

What you saw online is false , NAB is one of the largest processing companies out there and our numbers speak for themselves . We switch 600 merchants every month.

Did you look at the links I sent you ?

I also attached a BBB listing from the New York times and our company is listed on there under credit card processing.

  • William

I received 2 calls from this company. The first was from an account manager who I allowed to push me into finding my credit processing information. When he asked me to give him all of that financial information ASAP I told him that I wasn’t comfortable giving that information so quickly to someone who solicited me and not the other way around. He then had his senior account manager, Jeremy Barnoff, call me and send an email to me to obtain that information. I told him that I would look at it and think about it, when I told him that he wanted to send me a 2nd email with more information. He did that I I was able to get off the phone. He then called back the next day and I told him I had his information and wasn’t ready to pass along my information to him since I wasn’t actively seeking anything. He continued with the most incredibly rude line of questioning, attacking, etc. towards me. I tried to politely tell him that he was not going to get anywhere with me with those tactics…HE CONTINUED EVEN MORE AGGRESSIVELY. If ever Jeremy Barnoff calls you, HANG UP! Don’t try to be polite, don’t even try to be direct, this guy is unbelievable!!!!

I can’t say I believe this review. I’ve heard that in order to have a good review on this website companies are blackmailed into paying a certain amount and if they don’t pay up you give them bad reviews. Is this true?

    • Phillip CPO

      Hi Rosie,

We have seen providers that score poor ratings in our reviews tell this falsity to their prospective customers and I would caution you in working with anyone who would lie to you as this person has. We do not accept payment or bribes of any kind in exchange for ratings, good or bad. In fact, I challenge any provider to supply evidence that we have ever accepted a bribe. Unlike most of the review websites for the merchant processing industry, we value our reputation as an unbiased resource for business owners.

Would you mind telling me who told you this mis-information?

Rosie, as a former customer of Sekure Merchants, I can tell you they are true, but if you don’t believe us go ahead and try them, I think you have 30 days to get out of the contract, just keep that in mind.

I worked at secur for 4 months. We are taught to be aggressive. We are not to let the potential customer out of the phone call or accept no for an answer. We were firmly instructed not to place anyone on the do not call list even if they requested. We were also told the phone numbers rotated every 3 months. What lies the same companies would pop up every other day on the automated dialers. Horrible people to work for and many employees were high on drugs while working. Management is aware but as long as employees produced nothing was done.

I get a call from these people about once every three months. The first time, I flat out expressed no interest. The second time I listened to what they had to say and reviewed all of the materials. However, the owner of our company was on vacation and I wanted to run it by her before I signed over. I told the sales rep this much and she hounded me that the “the rates are only valid for 7 days” and called TWICE A DAY to see if I had spoken to the owner. The third time, I expressed interest and had all of the materials to fax back. During this time a rep called twice a day for 5 days straight. She would call while I was in the midst of a project, told her I would call her back, and she would call again an hour later. RELENTLESS!! I was told to fax the signed contract to her on Monday; however, I could not be in the office on Monday so I faxed it to her Tuesday morning. Guess what? I never heard from her again. It has been over a week since I faxed the contract and I’ve sent her an email. Not a word back. The rates they quoted were good, I’ll give them that but what does it matter if they fall off the face of the earth once you sign on. This company is a joke.

  • Dave

Don’t do it. They are bad to do business with, they lie constantly. They will tell you anything to sign the contract, and then 45 days later they hit you with fees that were never discussed. they tell you that you will save money but you won’t. The longer you stay with them, the more fees they charge you with. I firmly believe they get you to sign up saying that they put small merchants together to get better rates, just so they can charge you outrageous fees and then get you to pay the cancellation fees. I warn you, do not sign up with this company.

  • LaBronnasmom

HaHa! Chloe Jones hit the nail on the head! That was EXACTLY what they told me today. And yes, North America happened to have the lowest rate…out of the 100’s of companies that bid on it, lol. Amazing. Ya gotta love the internet.

  • Marvin Weirich

Mr. Jones, how very, very timely! I just fielded two calls from these scammers. They were doing a “mandatory, industry-financed review” of our crecit card processing, with claims to “absolutely” halve our costs. I paid them no attention, as our direct agent at ***** has given us good service, reasonable rates and a written exception to their Early Termination Fees clause!

  • Chloe Jones

I recently worked at this company and your review is pretty accurate except the part about headquartered in NYC. In fact, it’s headquartered in Montreal, where all of its staff are as well as the owners. they claim to send out portfolios of 300-500 merchants (worth anything from $5 million to $20 million in monthly processing volume) to a network of processors (up to 100 different processors). They do nothing of the sort. They also lie in other ways to potential clients, such as claiming to have a “mandate from all the major banks and processors” to do a rate review and guaranteeing a rate reduction of 25% to 50%. I’ve even heard some agents tell potential clients that it’s the law, that they have to get this review done. Phillip, feel free to contact me for more information.

I received 2 high-pressure sales calls for a sales representative. I was told I could expect an effective(!) discount rate of 1.5% for a merchant doing small to midsized credit sales volumes. I found that very hard to believe, but was told they aggregate volumes to get better rates with processors. I would need to have that guaranteed in writing.
