Alexander Fala served as CEO of Vend, a cloud-based retail point-of-sale platform offering POS software, inventory management, e-commerce, and customer loyalty solutions for iPad, Mac, and PC. According to our review of Vend, the platform was designed to serve retail businesses with modern point-of-sale technology. Fala was appointed acting CEO in February 2016 when founder Vaughan Rowsell stepped down, and was later confirmed as permanent CEO. Prior to Vend, Fala held roles as VP of strategy and CFO, and worked with several New Zealand companies including Trade Me, Les Mills International, and Orion Health. He also served as a management consultant at McKinsey and attended Oxford University as a Rhodes Scholar. Vend was later acquired by Lightspeed Retail in 2021.
