Bill Clerico is the co-founder and former CEO of WePay, an integrated payment platform he established alongside Rich Aberman in 2008. According to our review of WePay, the company provides payment processing solutions through its APIs for platform businesses including crowdfunding sites, marketplaces, and small business software companies. Clerico founded WePay at the age of 23 and led the company for 12 years, raising over 75 million dollars in financing across five rounds. WePay’s customers included GoFundMe, FreshBooks, Constant Contact, and Meetup. The company was acquired by JPMorgan Chase for a reported 400 million dollars. After the acquisition, Clerico ran JPMorgan’s SMB payments business and led strategic investments in Toast, TouchBistro, and FreshBooks. He has since founded Convective Capital, an investment firm.
