A Global Payments Reseller

Card Concepts Merchant Services is a merchant account provider that was established in 2009. Card Concepts appears to be an independent reseller of Global Payments contracts. It should be noted that the company may easily be confused with Card Concepts, Inc., a vended laundry payment solutions company, but the two entities are entirely unrelated.

Card Concepts Service Options

Merchants should be aware that Card Concepts possibly outsources its customer support to Global Payments, which could result in the larger company receiving the bulk of complaints. The Card Concepts website features a contact form and a customer service phone number. Customer service hours are M-F 8:30am-4:30pm.

We have located a single Card Concepts customer service number:

(877) 705-1515 – Toll-Free General Customer Service

Card Concepts does not offer a dedicated email support address, however it does a support form on its website.

The company does not qualify as a top credit card processor for customer service. Even so, the general lack of complaints about the company compels us to award it an “A” in this category.

No BBB Complaints

Variable Contract Terms

At this time, we are unable to locate any complaints about the standard Card Concepts contract, and we therefore have very little information about it. Card Concepts rates are not list directly on its website, instead providing contact information for merchants to have their current rates reviewed in respect to a quote that the company can offer them.

The company appears to resell the services of Global Payments, so it is likely that its standard Card Concepts contract terms resemble those of Global Payments. Global Payments offers a wide variety of processing rates likely to vary depending on a merchant’s business type, size, and time in business.

For the purposes of this review, Global Payments fees are referenced to approximate what merchants can expect from Card Concepts. Fees associated with a typical contract with Global payments include an early termination fee of $500 per location or Liquidated Damages, whichever is greater, which is as expensive as termination fees get, as well as a 48-month equipment lease which cannot be canceled. Merchant reviews have also claimed being charged an undisclosed $299 annual maintenance fee, account holds, and difficulty closing their accounts.

Virtual Terminal and Payment Gateway Pricing

In addition to its storefront payment processing services, Card Concepts also dedicates a portion of its website to advertising its virtual terminal and payment gateway services. However, pricing is not disclosed on either of those services. Additional Card Concepts rates and fees, including gateway fees, technical support fees, batch fees, and additional transaction rates typically apply to these e-commerce services.

To ensure that merchants receive the best rates, we recommend selecting from the cheapest merchant accounts. If you have any knowledge of Card Concepts’ standard contract (including any early termination fees or monthly minimum fees, please leave that information in the comment section below.

Independent Sales Team

Card Concepts appears to primarily market its services through its website and through independent sales offices. Despite its use of resellers, there is only one public Card Concepts review at this time that mentions inept and misleading sales tactics by a company representative. If you suspect that Card Concepts is charging you undisclosed fees, we recommend seeking a free third-party statement audit to find and eliminate hidden costs.

No Deceptive Advertising

To its credit, the company does not appear to engage in deceptive advertising tactics in its official materials. If you have had any experience with the Card Concepts sales force, please describe that communication in the comment section below.

Our Card Concepts Review Summary

Our Final Thoughts

Solid Option for Most Standard-Risk Merchants

Card Concepts Merchant Services rates as a reliable merchant services provider. The credit card processor is showing only one complaint on other consumer protection websites, and although little is known about its contract terms at this time, we did not find any information that suggests that the company is a scam. Merchants who sign up with Card Concepts can probably expect the same contract terms and customer service that Global Payments provides. Merchants should still inquire about all possible terms before signing up for service, and compare Card Concepts’ opportunities to those offered by top-rated payment processors.
