Indigo Payments Fees, Rates & Costs

A Closer Look at The Contract

Cost & Fees Summary
Cancellation Penalties No
Monthly & Annual Fees Yes
Processing Rates 1.00 - 4.99%
Equipment Leasing Yes

Offering First Data (Fiserv) and Chase Merchant Services Contracts

Indigo Payments resells contracts from First Data (Fiserv) and Chase Merchant Services, providing a range of potential rates and fees. Businesses may encounter a PCI Compliance fee of $19.95 per month with First Data (Fiserv), while Chase Merchant Services does not levy this fee. Both Chase Merchant Services and First Data (Fiserv) enforce non-cancellable equipment leases, spanning 24 and 48 months, respectively.

Virtual Terminal and Payment Gateway Pricing

Aside from in-store payment processing, Indigo Payments promotes its virtual terminal and payment gateway services on its website. However, pricing for these services is not disclosed in the Indigo Payments e-commerce program guide. Indigo Payments relies on various gateway providers, including Payeezy, First Data Global Gateway, USAePay, and Authorize.Net, leading to variable pricing based on the chosen provider. Additional fees, such as gateway fees, technical support fees, batch fees, and transaction rates, are applicable to these e-commerce services.

No More Early Termination Fees

In October 2014, Indigo announced the cessation of early termination fees, alongside prior promotion of interchange-plus pricing on its website. According to a company representative, Indigo does not lease equipment; however, it offers a four-month interest-free payment plan for all equipment. The representative also indicated that the company’s PCI compliance fee stands at $3.95 per month.

Minimal Contract Complaints

Currently, there are only 2 complaints referencing Indigo Payments’ contract terms. One complaint, concerning an unexpected termination fee, is no longer applicable following the company’s policy change. The other complaint pertains to withheld funds, without indicating broader service issues. If you possess specific insights into Indigo’s contract terms, kindly share them in the comment section below this review. Inside Sales Team

A company representative has informed us that Indigo Payments employs a full-time W2 sales staff and does not hire independently contracted sales agents. Perhaps as a result of this policy, there are currently very few negative Indigo Payments reviews that accuse the company of using deceptive sales tactics. The client in one case claims to have been told that there are no early termination fees associated with the company’s service, only to find out that there was in fact a $300 cancellation penalty. This type of complaint may no longer be applicable, as Indigo Payments announced in October 2014 that it will no longer charge early termination fees. This compares favorably to our list of best credit card processors.

Interchange-Plus Pricing

The company’s website has previously mentioned interchange-plus pricing, which is the most transparent pricing structure available, but we are unable to locate that language as of this update. If you suspect that an Indigo Payments agent has added hidden fees to your contract, we recommend seeking a third-party statement audit to eliminate undisclosed charges.

Our Indigo Payments Review Summary

Our Final Thoughts

Indigo Payments rates as a reliable credit card processing provider according to our rating criteria. The company is showing a few complaints at this time but does not appear to engage in deceptive advertising tactics. Indigo’s overall rating may be subject to change once more information about its standard contract is made available. Businesses are encouraged to compare Indigo’s pricing to that offered by the top-rated merchant accounts before signing up.

I made a payment on Feb 16 online my bank released the payment immediately my payment has still not been processed I was told there is a 14 day hold. If I mailed the payment I could understand that but technically I made a cash payment. I never had this problem before. I only had 1 other problem I made a payment and they waitied 2 days to process it because I live on a fixed income my drug company sent out my medication early and deducted the funds from my account which caused my account to have insufficient funds when I called indigo and asked why my payment wasn’t processed the day I requested they said they don’t process on the weekend I told them My payment should have been processed on Friday . They had no comment I. made payments more than Minimum amount due my feelings are why bother might as well keep that money in my checking account

I scheduled a payment 3 weeks earlier than was due because I didn’t know when payment date was. I canceled it knowing I have 3 -4 weeks before my payment due. Now they froze my account. And the payment isn’t even due for 2 more weeks. Why did they freeze it if I’m not late on payment?

THAT WAS 4 MONTHS AGO. I SPOKE WITH 3 CUSTOMER SERVICE REPS, AND 2 DIFFERENT SUPERVISORS WHO LIED. I’M STILL WAITING FOR MY REFUND. ********

this is the worst processing company. they make mistakes but will not own up to it.. they might sell their company soon so better to look elsewhere. they make threats and breach contracts to contact your merchants and salesteam and think they are perfect and you are not.. very unprofessional and waste of time. fees might be disclosed but you have to pay for all equipment and paper!

We were with Heartland Payment Systems, and we had very few issues with them with over 10+ years, but I recently upgraded our POS system and wanted to try some new services. Mercury Payment Systems was the company our POS system was linked with, so we tried them for a bit, but we still wanted to see what else was out there. Flagship merchant services was a company found through online searches, and we tried them out but weren’t to our liking.
A salesman from Indigo Payment Systems stopped by our shop promising to beat any rates out there, and promising full service for everything. A very good talker he was, but come time when we needed help, he didn’t pick up his phone and his mailbox was full. Our stand-alone machine we bought from them did not take the paper rolls it came with, but that was just a minor annoyance having to re-roll paper rolls to fit in the machine. We started having connection issues, and the machine worked when it wanted it to and didn’t work when we needed it to. The first tech service guy I called had no idea what he was doing, so there were very long, silent, uncomfortable pauses between directions before we got disconnected. The 2nd guy I got a hold of had an attitude problem, not to mention their tech line seems to be outsourced. We had two chargebacks for several hundred dollars within a few months (which is quite rare for us), and we were unsuccessful in getting any of that money back. They inform you of the chargeback more than several days after the money has already been debited out of the account (without warning). As a small business retailer, I DO NOT recommend this company to anyone. WATCHOUT for the $300 early termination fee they’ll try and charge you with. It will be stated in the contract you’re required to sign, but the salesman will straight up tell you there is no early termination fee. Not much info or history/reviews on this company, but from a personal experience, I’d give them an F for service and experience.

My personal experience with Indigo Credit Card processing was very negative and full of frustrations. I own a small business; I got stuck with a shipment at port because this credit card processing decided just not to process the payment transaction. Their explanation was that the amount of the transaction was very high and they requested internal business documents which I was reluctant to provide. As a result I got log back in my schedule with the risk of losing my customer and with a delay of couple of days in my project. At the end I did a different transaction to get my shipment out of port. I try to resolve the issue and told then to cancel the transaction, to which at the beginning they told me that it was possible and that the customer money was to be returned in 24 to 48 hours. To my surprise I called then after 48 hours because they were incapable to resolve the issue, they came with another excuse that they need to match some customer information with the bank in order to give the money back to the customer. It is almost 10 days and they still holding the money that do does not belong to them. I tried to resolve the issue in a different way, reversing the transaction, at this point they came with extra charges and some other bologna. This story continues. For this reasons I strongly and very emphatically DO NOT recommend this company, they will hurt your business because they are not reliable on the contrary they are irresponsible senseless without understanding of a business dynamics. They are under the impression that we (small business) cannot make business without them. One of the managers told me that we were partners, to which I replay that they were a third party doing payment processing, That I did not need a third party getting involved in a private legitimate transaction . I would like to emphasize DO NOT make business with Indigo Credit Card Processing, they will hurt your business, will sell your private information, they will force you to make business with them

I have been using Indigo for several years now. After being in business for almost ten years and changing several times I really think I have found my final processor. As every processor always rose my rate after a few months, I can happily say there’s didn’t in fact two years after processing with them THEY CALLED ME AND DID A COMPLIMENTARY RATE CHECK AND ACTUALLY LOWERED MY RATE. This company has truly made me happy and thought I would take a minute to let some others that have been scammed by bad companies out there this company truly does seem like they care. Thank you
