Reselling First Data and Chase Merchant Services Contracts
Indigo Payments resells the contracts of First Data (Fiserv) and Chase Merchant Services, which means that it is capable of offering a wide array of possible rates and fees. Businesses can expect to pay a PCI Compliance fee of $19.95 per month through First Data (Fiserv) though Chase Merchant Services does not assess a fee. Chase Merchant Services and First Data (Fiserv) each enforce non-cancellable equipment leases of 24 and 48 months, respectively.
Virtual Terminal and Payment Gateway Pricing
In addition to its storefront payment processing services, Indigo Payments also dedicates a portion of its website to advertising its virtual terminal and payment gateway services. However, the Indigo Payments e-commerce program guide does not disclose pricing for these services. The company’s website advertises that it relies on Payeezy, the First Data Global Gateway, USAePay, and Authorize.Net for its online payment gateway. As such, pricing will vary based on which gateway provider a merchant utilizes. Additional Indigo Payments rates and fees, including gateway fees, technical support fees, batch fees, and additional transaction rates typically apply to these e-commerce services.
No More Termination Fees
In October 2014, Indigo announced that it would no longer charge early termination fees, and the company’s website has previously included language promoting interchange-plus pricing. A company representative has informed us that Indigo does not lease equipment, but the company does offer a four-month payment plan with no interest or fees on all equipment. The same representative stated that the company’s PCI compliance fee is $3.95 per month.

A company representative has informed us that Indigo Payments employs a full-time W2 sales staff and does not hire independently contracted sales agents. Perhaps as a result of this policy, there are currently very few negative Indigo Payments reviews that accuse the company of using deceptive sales tactics. The client in one case claims to have been told that there are no early termination fees associated with the company’s service, only to find out that there was in fact a $300 cancellation penalty. This type of complaint may no longer be applicable, as Indigo Payments announced in October 2014 that it will no longer charge early termination fees. This compares favorably to our list of best credit card processors.
The company’s website has previously mentioned interchange-plus pricing, which is the most transparent pricing structure available, but we are unable to locate that language as of this update. If you suspect that an Indigo Payments agent has added hidden fees to your contract, we recommend seeking a third-party statement audit to eliminate undisclosed charges.
