Operating Since 1987

Netcom PaySystem, founded in 1987, is a merchant account provider serving most standard-risk business types. Netcom PaySystem is a wholly-owned subsidiary of United eSystems, Inc. and appears to function as a sub-ISO of that company. United eSystems also appears to operate under the name United Check Services, and all 3 entities are resellers of TSYS Merchant Solutions and of WorldPay. Netcom PaySystem also operates a second brand specifically geared at high-risk merchants.

Netcom PaySystem processes all major debit and credit cards for standard-risk businesses. Their services include EMV card readers and swipers, wireless solutions, POS solutions, e-commerce solutions, text-to-pay, and cash discounts.

Clean Complaint Record

As noted above, we are mostly able to locate positive Netcom PaySystem reviews at this time, and there appears to be no evidence whatsoever that the company is a scam or a ripoff. Considering the fact that the company has been in business for over 25 years, this is an exceptional complaint rate that indicates a responsive customer service team, ethical sales policies, and competitive contract terms. Netcom PaySystem’s affiliated companies, United Check Services and United eSystems, also appear to have 0 complaints online, although it seems there is a telemarketing scam being operated by an unaffiliated person who sometimes claims to work for United Check Services. If you have your own NetCom PaySystem review to make, please do so in the comments below.

Netcom PaySystem Online Ratings

Here's How They Rate Online

Online Ratings Summary

Total Complaints 0
Complaints Resolved 0

No BBB Complaints

Netcom PaySystem has been accredited by the Better Business Bureau since 2007 and holds an “A+” score at this time of review. There are currently 0 complaints filed against the company in the last 36 months. The company is also not showing any informal reviews, although it should be noted that these reviews are not subject to verification by the BBB.

An “A” Rating

Since it is our philosophy that “A+” ratings should be reserved for companies with 0 complaints, we agree with the BBB’s rating in this case. Merchants should be aware, however, that there is reason to be skeptical of the BBB’s reviews.

Netcom PaySystem Fees, Rates & Costs

A Closer Look at The Contract

Key Points

Cancellation Penalties None
Monthly & Annual Fees Yes
Processing Rates Interchange + 0.75%, or 1.00% - 4.99%

Netcom PaySystem Pricing

The standard Netcom PaySystem contract is a month-to-month agreement with interchange-plus pricing and no early termination fees, annual fees, or monthly minimums. The company’s website advertises a basic per-transaction fee of interchange plus 0.75% with no other fees. However, a complaint in the comment section of this review states that the company has recently added a $9.95 monthly PCI compliance fee.

Virtual Terminal and Payment Gateway Pricing

In addition to its storefront payment processing services, NetCom PaySystem also dedicates a portion of its website to advertising its virtual terminal and payment gateway services. However, pricing is not disclosed on either of those services. Additional NetCom PaySystem rates and fees, including gateway fees, technical support fees, and batch fees may apply to these e-commerce services.

Level 2 and Level 3 Processing Services

In addition to its traditional merchant services, NetCom PaySystem also advertises that it provides Level 2 and Level 3 processing for B2B and B2G transactions. Level 2 and Level 3 processing rely upon different interchange rates than traditional consumer credit transactions. Accommodating those rates requires different payment processing technology from a merchant account provider to transmit the amount of data required to facilitate the transactions. These services are reserved for B2B and B2G purchases that utilize corporate credit cards.

Competitive Contract Terms

NetCom PaySystem’s terms are remarkably competitive compared to industry averages, and they are likely responsible for the positive reviews that we have found about the company. Although Netcom is not considered to be one of the cheapest merchant accounts, the general lack of complaints about the company’s contract terms leads us to conclude that Netcom PaySystem offers fair processing rates and fees that are fully disclosed by its sales team.

We also encourage merchants to check out our list of the providers of the best merchant accounts.

Netcom PaySystem Employee Reviews & Sales Tacitcs

Should You Work For Them?

Key Points

Employs Independent Resellers Yes
Advertises Deceptive Rates Yes
Discloses All Important Terms Yes

Outside Sales Agents

Netcom PaySystem appears to partner with ISOs and independent agents to market its services. Generally speaking, this practice can result in a sales force composed of untrained, unregulated sales representatives who are motivated to sign merchants up for the most expensive contract possible. In the case of this company, however, we were unable to locate any Netcom PaySystem reviews that mention unethical behavior by the company’s sales force. In fact, most reviews of the company appear to be positive testimonials left in the comment section of this Netcom PaySystem review as well as on other consumer protection websites.

This compares favorably to our list of best credit card processors.

Misleading Rate Quote

At the time of a previous update, the Netcom PaySystem homepage prominently advertised rates “starting at 0.38%,” which conflicted with its standard pricing plan of interchange plus 0.75%. The “starting at 0.38%” quote was likely the company’s qualified debit rate and was not inclusive of any mid-qualified or non-qualified surcharges that would apply to the majority of transactions. For this reason, we consider it a deceptive “teaser” quote, and merchants should not assume that they will pay an effective rate anywhere near 0.38%. This rate quote has since been removed.

“A” Rated For Now

The company’s overall pattern of positive feedback merits an “A” rating despite the confusing rate quotes on its website. Still, if you suspect that Netcom PaySystem is charging you undisclosed fees, we recommend seeking a third-party statement audit to find and eliminate hidden charges.

Our Netcom PaySystem Review Summary

Our Final Thoughts

An Excellent Option For Most Businesses

Netcom PaySystem rates as an exemplary merchant services provider according to our criteria. The company is showing generally positive reviews across all consumer protection websites and appears to place a premium on quality customer service, two factors that liken it to top-rated providers. Even when dealing with a highly rated credit card processor, merchants are encouraged to carefully examine all contract terms and negotiate the best deal they can.

Their website promises a human will answer during business hours. NOT TRUE! I have closed the bank account used for credit card receipts and need to inform them of the new account so we can process our credit card transactions. No one will call me back.

  • We use Netcome PaySystem and have been very happy with their service and the system. I would recommend to anyone that wants to save a lot of money on their credit card processing.

They are very helpful and never have any issues with our transactions.

PCI Compliance fees were just added as of today – 8-16-2016. $9.95 per month for some product called DataGuardian – and the cost is mandatory. Up till now we rated this company 5 stars. Excellent service. Now with the added $120 per year we will be looking elsewhere. Hopefully they will update their review descriptions to show this newly added PCI fee – which is exactly what this is.

  • Does Netcom Paysystem have an app that integrates with Quickbooks Online yet?

    • They can integrate with QB in general but not QB POS or QB online. Those are proprietary to Intuit and they don’t let anybody in.

Netcom has helped my business greatly. With their program I have been able to eliminate PCI fees, they have put me on a very fair pricing program, service has be very professional and I’m not locked into any contract. I would recommend them to any business that’s looking for a better all around program. Reach out to them, they actually call you back, unlike my old credit card company.

We use Netcom for 3 companies that we own and have been using them for about 15 months. We are saving a considerable amount of money. We have never experienced any issues since switching to Netcom…I just wish we had done it sooner!

I spent several hours online this morning researching credit card-processing companies. I looked at seven companies total, and Sam at Netcom PaySystem stood head and shoulders above all the others. Prompt responses to all my questions, friendly (even in ‘chat mode’), and professional. Reasonable pricing all upfront, no hidden costs.

I would highly recommend this company to anyone who has numerous credit card transactions per month.
