Meramak Business Solutions is a merchant account provider serving small businesses nationwide. There is some evidence that Meramak Business Solutions was a reseller of iPayment contracts, but a company representative has informed us that the company terminated its relationship with iPayment prior to its acquisition by Paysafe. The representative also stated that Meramak refunded thousands of dollars to merchants who were charged excessive fees by iPayment, but he did not provide the identity of the company’s current processor.
Meramak Business Solutions processes all major debit and credit cards for most business types. Their services include EMV card readers and swipers, mobile solutions, POS systems, ATMs, e-commerce payments, and gift and loyalty programs. According to the company’s website, Meramak Business Solutions focuses on offering merchants zero-fee processing. This means that merchants will not be charged swiped or keyed-in transaction fees. However, merchants should be aware of the specifics of this pricing plan to determine if they fit their business.
Meramak Business Solutions provides its clients with advanced POS systems that streamline the checkout process. In addition to processing transactions, these systems can assist businesses with inventory management, sales tracking, and other retail operations.
For businesses operating online, Meramak Business Solutions offers a robust online payment gateway. This service enables e-commerce merchants to process credit card transactions securely and swiftly, enhancing the overall online shopping experience.
Meramak Business Solutions caters to on-the-go businesses by offering mobile payment processing solutions. Their mobile card readers connect to smartphones or tablets, enabling businesses to process credit card transactions anytime, anywhere.
Security is a high priority for Meramak Business Solutions. The company adopts strict security protocols and uses advanced encryption technologies to safeguard sensitive cardholder data, ensuring that all transactions are processed securely.
It is worth noting that the Meramak Business Solutions logo could potentially be confused with Meramak of California in search results, but these 2 companies are unaffiliated. Meramak of California is owned by Mark Lapotaire and is not related to Meramak Bankcard.
Established in 1992, the company’s corporate address is located at 360 Central Ave, Suite 800, St. Petersburg, Florida 33701. Previously, we recorded Meramak Inc. as a registered ISO/MSP for First National Bank of Omaha, Omaha, Nebraska, and Wells Fargo Bank, N.A. of Walnut Creek, California, though its website currently only lists “Several Financial Partners And Processors”. Richard Ward is listed as the president and CEO of Meramak Business Solutions.

We are currently able to locate only very few negative Meramak Business Solutions reviews, and they do not accuse the company of being a ripoff or a scam. The low Meramak Business Solutions complaint total is surprising given the fact that Meramak previously sold iPayment contracts. It is possible that complaints about Meramak Business Solutions are redirected to the online profiles of its current payment processor, but there is no evidence that this is occurring. In any case, the company has managed to keep its overall complaint count impressively low. We will assume for the time being that this is the result of the capable and responsive customer service offered by Meramak Business Solutions. If you have your own Meramak Business Solutions review to make, please do so in the comments below.
We have not found any outstanding class-action lawsuits or FTC complaints filed against Meramak Business Solutions. Dissatisfied clients who wish to pursue a non-litigious course of action against the company should consider reporting it to the relevant supervisory organizations.
The company lists a general phone line and contact form on its website. However, these channels are not enough to qualify Meramak Business Solutions as a top-rated merchant account provider for customer service.

Before implementing their current pricing plan, Meramak Business Solutions provided clients with tiered pricing. According to a copy of the company’s iPayment contract, a typical Meramak Bankcard agreement was a three-year term through iPayment with an early termination fee of $250-$350, an unknown annual PCI Compliance fee, an annual fee of either $49.95 (retail) or $99.95 (non-retail), a statement fee of $10 per month, a monthly minimum fee of $25, a monthly iAccess fee ranging from $14.95-$30, a chargeback fee of $25 per incident, and other various fees. According to a company representative, Meramak no longer sells iPayment contracts. Though the company provides zero-fee processing now, it is unclear what other pricing models the company offers.
In addition to its storefront payment processing services, Meramak Business Solutions also dedicates a portion of its website to advertising its virtual terminal and payment gateway services. However, pricing is not disclosed on either of those services. Additional fees, including gateway fees, technical support fees, and batch fees, may apply to these e-commerce services.
There are no Meramak Business Solutions reviews online that mention Meramak Business Solutions’ rates, which is a good sign that the company’s current contract terms are more competitive than those it formerly offered through iPayment. Meramak Business Solutions’ current pricing could even rival that of low-cost merchant account providers. If you have any specific knowledge about the current standard Meramak Business Solutions contract, please share that information in the comment section of this review.
We also encourage business owners to check out our list of the providers of the best merchant accounts.

Meramak Business Solutions appears to primarily market its services through the use of ISOs and independent sales agents. This hiring strategy usually results in elevated complaint rates for the companies that use it, but we are currently unable to locate any Meramak Business Solutions reviews that mention unethical conduct by the company’s sales team.
This compares favorably to our list of best credit card processors.
Additionally, the Meramak Business Solutions website does not list deceptive rates or make unsubstantiated claims. We are therefore assigning the company an “A” rating in this category for the time being. If you suspect, however, that Meramak Business Solutions is overcharging you, you can double-check your monthly bill with a third-party statement audit.
Despite its former affiliation with iPayment, Meramak Business Solutions rates as a reliable credit card processing provider according to our standards. The company is showing only one complaint outside of the BBB, which is surprising given its industry-standard hiring practices and its potentially costly contract terms. The company’s rating may be subject to change once more information is provided to explain this disparity. Even when dealing with highly rated companies, business owners are encouraged to carefully read all contract terms and to compare their quotes to those offered by top-rated credit card processors.

Reply to Michael Trading: Just an FYI: That comment should not be under Meramak Bankcard. Mark Lapotaire is not affiliated with Meramak Bankcard. We are a NJ based company. Mark Lapotaire is Meramak of California; totally different company.
