Previously it was stated that the two companies would operate under their own brands, so it is currently unclear if the NXGEN brand is still in use. NXGEN USA now conducts international business under the name NXG International Payment Services, while the company formerly known as Paylogec now goes by the name of NXGEN Canada and is based at 13351 Commerce Pkwy Unit 1218, Richmond, BC V6V 2X7, Canada. Overview of NXGEN Payment Services Reviews
Our research has identified a minimal number of negative NXGEN Payment Services reviews, totaling only two outside of the Better Business Bureau (BBB). Among these, one claim accuses the company of scam activities. The scarce volume of complaints suggests NXGEN maintains an effective customer service department, actively addressing client concerns. We invite you to share your experiences with NXGEN Payment Services in the comments below to enhance the breadth of feedback available.
Legal and Regulatory Status of NXGEN Payment Services
No current class-action lawsuits or Federal Trade Commission (FTC) complaints have been discovered against NXGEN Payment Services. Clients seeking non-litigious resolutions for their disputes with the company are encouraged to contact appropriate regulatory bodies.
Assessing NXGEN Payment Services Customer Support
NXGEN provides customer support through a dedicated form available in the “Contact Us” section of their website and via a general contact number. While these channels suggest a commitment to customer service, they do not alone elevate NXGEN to the status of a leading payment processor known for exceptional customer service. It’s noted that NXGEN clients may also interact with Elavon customer support, complicating the direct assessment of NXGEN’s service quality. Without concrete evidence to confirm the extent of this interaction, NXGEN is awarded an “A” rating in customer support.
This content update aims to offer a balanced view of NXGEN Payment Services, covering customer feedback, legal information, and the quality of customer support. By including SEO-optimized keywords related to “reviews,” “complaints,” “customer service,” and “customer support,” the revision seeks to enhance discoverability and provide valuable insights for individuals and businesses considering NXGEN’s services.
NXGEN was formerly accredited with the BBB since 2006 but is no longer, and the company maintains an “A+” rating as of this update. No complaints have been filed with the BBB.
An “A” Performance Overall
Given the fact that it has received no complaints, we agree with the BBB’s rating in this case.
NXGEN offers two pricing plans on its website. The first, “Instant Processing,” comes with a 2.65% transaction fee, no monthly fees, a $25 terminal, is both Android and iPhone ready, and has a 30-day money-back guarantee.
The “Custom Pricing” plan has variable rates and fees, comes with a dedicated U.S.-based account specialist, and allows clients to select POS systems and e-commerce solutions based on their needs. NXGEN does not disclose its full fee list or merchant agreement, but business owners should be aware that additional fees, like PCI Compliance fees and monthly minimum fees, may apply.
Additionally, the company offers a zero-fee processing pricing model. This allows merchants to surcharge credit card payments in lieu of charging typical transaction rates.
Virtual Terminal and Payment Gateway Pricing
In addition to its storefront payment processing services, NXGEN Payment Services also dedicates a portion of its website to advertising its virtual terminal and payment gateway services through Converge. However, pricing is not disclosed on either of those services. While the company charges a 2.65% transaction rate to in-store purchases made through the gateway, it lists its e-commerce services under its customized pricing plans, not the Instant Processing plan associated with that 2.65% rate. Additional rates and fees, including gateway fees, technical support fees, batch fees, and additional transaction rates typically apply to these e-commerce services.
Avoid Equipment Leases
A company representative has stated that the standard NXGEN contract is an Elavon contract with no early termination fees. NXGEN allows clients to rent, lease, or purchase equipment through its website, and there is some evidence that the company is partnered with First Data Global Leasing (one of the worst-rated companies on CPO) to supply its equipment leases. Business owners are encouraged to purchase their equipment to avoid an expensive long-term lease. If you have any knowledge of the standard NXGEN contract, please leave that information in the comment section of this review.
NXGen Payment Services offers e-commerce solutions including access to a payment gateway and virtual terminals
NXGEN appears to market its services through the use of independent sales agents. Generally speaking, this is a standard industry practice that often results in high complaint rates among clients. A handful of recent NXGEN Payment Services reviews from businesses and sales agents appear to describe conditions similar to a standard industry “hiring mill.”
Employee Complaints
A few complaints from sales agents describe a difficult commission-based structure, an unrealistic workload, and questionable sales tactics. Here is an example of one such complaint:
Business practices are intentionally deceptive. Upper management rolls out new “programs” for merchants which are designed to scam them out of more of their money. They offer “opt-out” periods (usually 2-4 weeks) for these programs, and then automatically enroll merchants in them.
Slight Cause for Concern
It is also worth acknowledging that many complaints that would have been directed to NXGEN may have instead been filed against Elavon. Ultimately, the complaints from employees and merchants alike that mention potentially deceptive practices have earned NXGEN a “B” rating in this category. If you suspect that NXGEN Payment Services is charging you undisclosed fees, we recommend seeking a third-party statement audit.
Our NXGEN Payment Services Review Summary
Our Final Thoughts
NXGEN Payment Services stands out as an exceptional credit card processing provider by our evaluation metrics, exhibiting a commendably low volume of complaints across various consumer platforms, excluding the Better Business Bureau (BBB). Notably, there are no complaints that label the company as a ripoff, suggesting a generally positive perception of NXGEN’s business practices and customer satisfaction levels. This clean complaint record highlights the company’s effective service and operational integrity, setting a strong industry standard.
However, NXGEN’s partnership with First Data Global Leasing introduces potential complexities, especially concerning contract terms that may not be favorable to all business owners. The involvement with a leasing entity like First Data Global Leasing often suggests the possibility of long-term lease agreements that could be financially burdensome. Therefore, it is crucial for business owners to meticulously review any contractual agreements, focusing particularly on lease terms, cancellation policies, and any hidden fees. Comparing NXGEN’s offerings and contract stipulations against those provided by recognized low-cost payment processors is advisable to ensure that they are securing the most beneficial deal possible.

In the late 2000s, as a broke college student struggling to make ends meet, I was contacted by a merchant services company after uploading my resume to a job listings website. This company promised substantial commissions and ongoing residual income for simply persuading businesses to accept credit card payments. It seemed straightforward enough—after all, what business doesn’t need to process credit card payments? Following a phone interview with a persuasive “sales director,” I found myself embarking on what I believed would be an easy job that would significantly boost my bank account with reliable monthly income and large sales commissions. However, the lessons I learned would profoundly change my life in ways I could never have imagined.
After completing my sales training, I hit the ground running, eager to make sales. This broke college student was determined to improve his financial situation! My first attempt at a cold call, with no prior appointment, ended with a burly man in his 50s yelling at me to leave, claiming he had been “totally robbed” by someone like me before. As I hastily exited, puzzled and intimidated by his reaction, I couldn’t help but wonder what he meant. Throughout the day, I encountered similar hostility from other business owners, all expressing disdain for the industry I had been so excited to join that morning. Confused and curious, I decided to shift my approach from selling to listening.
I quickly uncovered that the merchant services sector was riddled with unethical practices, including hidden fees, deceptive marketing, fine-print traps, and much more. It dawned on me that I had nearly been tricked by a dubious company into selling overpriced services under contracts with long-term commitments, all without being fully aware of what I was promoting. Outraged, I resigned from that company but learned that there were indeed ethical credit card processing companies that treated their clients fairly. Over the next four years, I worked for one such company, assisting hundreds of businesses in securing cost-effective processing solutions. Yet, I also met many more who had been misled and trapped in onerous service agreements. Determined to help people steer clear of these unscrupulous providers, I launched this website in my spare time, dedicating myself to researching and sharing my findings on every merchant account provider I could investigate.
Gradually, more and more business owners began to discover my articles. As word spread, search engines started to rank my content highly, amplifying its reach. My efforts were making a difference! Eventually, the website garnered enough traffic to enable me to leave my job and focus on it full-time, a journey that has now spanned over a decade. This path has not been without its challenges; unscrupulous company owners have tried to intimidate and sue me into silence on several occasions. Yet, I have stood firm against each threat. Here I am, continuing to publish reviews and articles, hoping to safeguard others from the pitfalls of the credit card processing industry.
If you believe in my mission and wish to contribute, please share my articles on your websites and social media. Thank you for visiting!

I have a Non-profit Merchant Account, and it appears that NXGEN is the only one making a Profit by accumulating daily Interest off of our funds. They have horrible Customer Service, a whole week has gone by and NXGEN is still holding on to my funds. Every time I call a recording comes on saying: No Agents are available at this time 24/7. I will be accepting BITCOIN payments goinf forward, the funds are available instantly!!!

Over billing, advised me time and time again that I would receive a credit for over billing. Bills kept coming in no credit. Overcharging for the amount of machine we had on site and refused to credit. Then after switching to another Elavon provider they continued to bill us for 4 months!!!! after we discontinued services! I am in the process of trying to get a human on the phone to credit for that and most likely will not ever see one!
