Switch Commerce is a merchant account provider that originally established itself in the ATM industry in 2002. The company appears to rely on Sage Payment Solutions for its processing network.
Before we dive in, here’s a short summary of what we’ll cover:
Although it remains an ATM provider, Switch Commerce recently expanded its service offerings into credit card processing and merchant accounts via a mobile credit card processing app and card reader called iPayHere (formerly SwitchPay). iPayHere is a GoPayment-like service that offers pay-as-you-go pricing for numerous different business types. However, it is unclear if iPayHere is still in business and as such, if SwitchCommerce still relies upon it. Services Switch Commerce offers include dynamic currency conversion on their ATMs and a terminal management system.
Switch Commerce is located at 6565 North MacArthur Boulevard, Suite 1000, Irving, Texas 75039 and is a registered ISO/MSP of BMO Harris Bank N. A. Nancy Rimmer is listed as the CEO and Roger Myers is president of Switch Commerce.

Total Online Complaints | <10 |
Live Customer Support | Yes |
Most Common Complaint | N/A |
Recent Lawsuits | No |
We are currently unable to locate any Switch Commerce reviews that accuse the company of being a scam or a ripoff, and the company appears to be showing only one complaint on other consumer protection websites. The sole negative review cites excessive fees but does not go into detail about the nature of the fees. This impressive complaint volume may be the result of a responsive and available customer support staff, or it may be the result of Switch Commerce complaints being redirected to the online profiles of its backend processor. If you have your own Switch Commerce review to make, please do so in the comments below.
We have not found any outstanding class-action lawsuits or FTC complaints filed against Switch Commerce. Dissatisfied clients who wish to pursue a non-litigious course of action against the company should consider reporting it to the relevant supervisory organizations.
The Switch Commerce website lists a dedicated support email address, but it seems likely that the company outsources its customer support to its processor.
Switch Commerce’s support options do not qualify it as a top-rated processor for customer service at this time. Still, the total lack of online complaints that mention Switch Commerce inclines us to award the company an “A” in this category.

BBB Reports | 1 |
As of this review, Switch Commerce has a score of “B-” with the Better Business Bureau and is not accredited. The BBB is reporting 1 complaint against the company in the last 36 months. The complaint was resolved by the company to the dissatisfaction of the client or received no final response. Switch Commerce has also not received any informal reviews through its BBB profile, although it should be noted that these reviews are not subject to verification by the BBB. If you have your own Switch Commerce review to make, please do so in the comments below.
Due to the low number of complaints and Switch Commerce’s resolution rate, we have adjusted the BBB’s score to an “A”. Readers should note, however, that there are good reasons to be skeptical of the BBB’s rating system.

Monthly & Annual Fees | Yes |

As of this update, Switch Commerce has removed its pricing page and any mention of credit card processing from its website. The company once dedicated a portion of its website to iPayHere Merchant Services. However, it is unclear if iPayHere is still in business or if SwitchCommerce resells any other merchant account provider’s services instead. iPayHere offers headphone-jack magnetic stripe readers that run the company’s iProcess software, as well as the full suite of POS and mobile phone payment processing devices from the First Data (now Fiserv) Clover line.
Before the iPayHere website became inactive, the company dedicated a portion of it to its pricing structure. A schedule of those rates and fees follows. Regardless of which hardware lineup clients opt for, the company’s per-transaction pricing appears to consist of a series of fixed rates that apply to each business based on the type of card swiped:
Depending on the types of cards merchants typically accept, this pricing structure has the potential to be much cheaper than average or much more expensive than average. Each merchant will need to consult this table and factor in hardware costs and any possible unlisted costs into their decision.
There are currently no Switch Commerce complaints that mention the company’s pricing and fees at this time, which suggests that the majority of the company’s clients are satisfied with their costs. However, Switch Commerce does not qualify as one of the cheapest merchant accounts. Business owners are advised to read their contracts carefully and ask about any additional fees. If you have any knowledge of the current Switch Commerce contract (including any monthly fees, PCI compliance fees, or early termination fees), please leave that information in the comment section of this review.
Given the fact that the company has removed its pricing schedule from its website and the ambiguous status of iPayPhere’s operations, this review includes the last set of available rates and fees. Given the lack of clarity surrounding those factors, we award SwitchCommerce a “C” in this category.

Uses Independent Resellers | Yes |
Telemarketing | Likely |
Misleading Marketing | No |
Discloses All Important Terms | No |
Switch Commerce appears to partner with independent resellers and ISOs to market its services. This is a common practice within the card processing industry that tends to result in a higher complaint volume for a company since it can be difficult for any business to monitor the conduct of independent sales entities. Switch Commerce does not appear to be showing the usual amount of complaints associated with this practice, as we are currently unable to locate any negative Switch Commerce reviews that mention the sales team.
The iPayHere website advertises its service by quoting multiple rates for different card types. Beneath these quotes is a disclaimer: “Fees, dues, and assessments as applicable passed through.” What this likely means is that clients will pay the listed transaction fees plus the Dues & Assessment fee associated with all Visa and MasterCard transactions, which is roughly an additional tenth of a percent. Although these costs are clearly disclosed, clients should be sure to verify that this is the full extent of the company’s fees. If you suspect that Switch Commerce is charging you undisclosed fees, we recommend seeking a third-party statement audit to find and eliminate hidden charges.
In addition to payment processing, Switch Commerce also provides businesses with a terminal management system to monitor their ATMs. The system assigns terminal IDs, monitors cash balances, tracks, errors, and automates reports. This service is hosted on the company’s proprietary app MobileTMS.
Switch Commerce rates as a better-than-average credit card processing provider according to our rating criteria. The company shows only one complaint across all consumer protection websites, but it may conduct most of its merchant account business under the iPayHere brand at this point. Readers are encouraged to read their contracts carefully, to strongly negotiate terms, and to compare Switch Commerce’s services to those offered by top-rated credit card processors.
