Agree with our rating?
Founded in 2002, EC Suite is a merchant account provider headquartered in Tempe, Arizona. The company appears to be a DBA or payment processing division for CCBill, as the businesses share the same address and are under the same management.
Before we dive in, here’s a short summary of what we’ll cover:
- EC Suite’s various payment processing services.
- The company has received few complaints.
- EC Suite focuses on e-commerce and pairs that with merchant accounts.
- The EC Suite flat-rate contract appears competitive, but clients may find there to be strict rules about which businesses it works with.
- EC Suite pays out weekly, not every 24-48 hours as some providers do.

EC Suite Customer Reviews
Here's What Their Clients Say
|Total Online Complaints||<10|
|Live Customer Support||Yes|
|Most Common Complaint||N/A|
Low Complaint Volume
We can locate only one negative EC Suite review at this time, and this complaint appears to have been posted by a customer of an EC Suite client rather than the client itself. There is no indication that this company is a ripoff or scam operation. EC Suite provides processing for a large number of internet-based merchants that may also be classified as high-risk business types, so the company is more likely to receive cardholder complaints than a traditional credit card processor might. Since EC Suite’s lone complaint doesn’t illustrate much about a merchant’s potential experience with EC Suite, we have disregarded it for the purposes of this review. If you have your own EC Suite review to make, please do so in the comments below.
EC Suite Lawsuits
We have not found any outstanding class-action lawsuits or FTC complaints filed against EC Suite. Dissatisfied clients who wish to pursue a non-litigious course of action against the company should consider reporting it to the relevant supervisory organizations.
EC Suite Customer Support Options
EC Suite provides a help center section, support phone numbers, and email addresses for both merchants and cardholders on its website. For now, EC Suite does not rank poorly for customer support, but it is also not a top recommended processor for quality customer service.

EC Suite Online Ratings
Here's How They Rate Online
Clean Complaint Record
EC Suite currently has an “A-” with the Better Business Bureau and has not obtained BBB accreditation. The company has received 1 complaint in the past 36 months. The 1 complaint was resolved to the satisfaction of the client.
An “A” Performance
In light of its low complaint record, we agree with the BBB’s rating of an “A.” Readers should note, however, that there are reasons to be skeptical of the BBB’s rating system.
EC Suite Fees, Rates & Costs
A Closer Look at The Contract
|Monthly & Annual Fees||Unclear|
Flat Per-Transaction Rate
Rather than charging clients various monthly fees or locking them into long-term contracts, EC Suite charges a flat per-transaction rate and allows clients to cancel their agreements at any time with 10 days’ written notice. There are no fixed monthly fees or monthly minimum fees, and the company’s terms and conditions do not list any early termination fees for businesses. Additionally, there are no client complaints that mention excessive or undisclosed fees charged by EC Suite.
Virtual Terminal and Payment Gateway Pricing
In addition to its storefront payment processing services, EC Suite also dedicates a portion of its website to advertising its virtual terminal and payment gateway services. The company advertises Authorize.Net and NMI as payment gateways. However, pricing will depend on which payment gateway a business utilizes. Additional rates and fees, including gateway fees, technical support fees, and batch fees, may apply to these e-commerce services.
Although the company’s per-transaction fee of 4.90% plus $1.00 is much higher than industry averages, the fact that it is all-inclusive makes it potentially appealing for many card-not-present business types. Readers should note that the company is an e-commerce provider that is partnered with a high-risk merchant account provider, so EC Suite could potentially have very stringent protocols for dealing with suspicious or fraudulent transactions. It is also worth noting that the company pays out on a weekly basis rather than every 24-48 hours.
EC Suite Employee Reviews & Sales Tacitcs
Should You Work For Them?
|Uses Independent Resellers||Yes|
|Discloses All Important Terms||Yes|
No Sales Complaints
EC Suite appears to market itself through direct sales and channel sales, which can include third-party referrals or outside sales agents. In general, the use of outside sales agents can lead to an elevated complaint rate for a company, but we cannot locate any negative EC Suite reviews that mention unethical conduct by the company’s sales team. This indicates that the company exercises a greater-than-average amount of control over its external agents.
No Deceptive Quotes
Additionally, the EC Suite website does not promote any misleading rate quotes, and at the time of our previous update, it even listed a large number of the company’s fees for anyone to review. This page has since been removed. If you suspect that EC Suite is charging you undisclosed fees, we recommend seeking a third-party statement audit to eliminate hidden costs.
