Compare eVance Processing
Company Overview
eVance Processing is a merchant account provider offering services as a credit card processor along with e-commerce, mobile phone processing solutions, and a cash discount program. Though initially created as a subsidiary of Excel Corporation, in April 2018 eVance Processing (along with eVance Capital) was acquired by The OLB Group, Inc., a cloud-based business service provider for eCommerce, mCommerce, and brick-and-mortar customers. The OLB Group also processes through Omnisoft.io Inc. and CrowdPay.us, Inc.
Calpian Acquisition
In December 2015, Excel Corporation acquired Calpian Commerce under the newly created eVance Processing brand, making Calpian and all of its subsidiary companies the property of eVance. eVance Processing appears to refer to itself as Calpian Commerce in some of its sales copy. Calpian was itself created in 2013 from the assets of the bankrupt Pipeline Data, an Alpharetta, Georgia-based credit card processor. Separately from its Calpian acquisition, Excel Corporation also purchased Securus Payments in 2014 and then in 2015 signed an exclusive preferred marketing agreement between Chyp and eVance Processing.
A partial list of companies that have been absorbed into the Calpian and eVance brands includes the following:
- Pipeline Data
- Securus Payments
- Cardaccept.com
- Northern Merchant Services
- AIRCHARGE
- SecurePay
Due to the various restructurings that this organization has undergone in the past few years, this list may be subject to change at any given point.
eVance Payment Gateway
eVance also offers their own payment gateway called SecurePay. This gateway offers features such as accepting EMV and Apple Pay, PCI compliance, recurring billing, variable batch time, SecureGuard security, Easy Shop shopping carts, 24/7 support, customer vaults, API help, and integration with third-party shopping carts.
Location & Ownership
eVance Processing is a registered ISO/MSP of Wells Fargo Bank N.A., Concord, CA; Synovus Bank., Columbus, GA; Esquire Bank Jericho, NY; Elavon, Inc. GA a wholly-owned subsidiary of U.S. BankCorp., Minneapolis, MN; and Fifth Third Bank, N.A. Cincinnati, OH, USA. The company’s website lists its headquarters at 960 North Point Parkway, Suite 400 Alpharetta, Georgia 30022, but it is actually registered in the state of Georgia at 4400 North Point Parkway, Ste. 295, Alpharetta, Georgia, 30022, the old headquarters for both Pipeline Data and Calpian Commerce. As of this update, Ronny Yakov is listed as the CEO of eVance Processing.

A Variety of Complaints
We are currently able to locate more than 20 negative eVance Processing reviews outside of the BBB, some of which accuse the company of being a scam. Common eVance Processing complaints include fund-holds, unauthorized billing, undisclosed fees, and poor customer service. In addition, eVance’s corporate partners and subsidiaries like Securus Payments, Chyp, Pipeline Data, and Calpian Commerce have together amassed hundreds of serious complaints online. It’s therefore possible that some of the complaints filed against these entities are applicable to the same team that currently owns and operates eVance Processing. We also invite merchants to leave their own eVance Processing review in the comment section below.
eVance Processing Lawsuits and Fines
In July 2020, a lawsuit was filed by merchant Aperia Sols that involved alleged breach of contract from an eVance Processing Inc. contract. Somewhat confusingly, the contract was purchased from eVance Processing, Inc. by a separate entity called eVance, Inc. This lawsuit is ongoing and it is not certain how the eVance of this review will be affected by the suit.
Dissatisfied merchants who wish to pursue a non-litigious course of action against the company should consider reporting it to the relevant supervisory organizations.
eVance Processing Customer Service Options
eVance Processing does appear to offer live phone support to all of its merchants, although it’s unclear whether this line is directly serviced by eVance or by its acquiring banks. The company also offers a support ticket system through SecurePay. As we have in other sections of this review, we will assign eVance a rating that reflects merchant feedback about eVance as well as its organizational affiliations and history.
We have located a single eVance Processing customer service number:
855-452-7135 – Toll-Free Customer Service
eVance Processing also offers a customer support form on its website and a customer service email at [email protected]
eVance Processing’s support options are not sufficient to qualify it as a top-rated merchant account provider for customer service.

Beware Liquidated Damages
According to the eVance Processing terms and conditions, the standard eVance Processing contract is a two-year agreement with automatic renewal for two-year terms and a liquidated damages-style early termination fee that is calculated “by multiplying (a) the number of months remaining from the date of termination to the end of the current Term, by (b) the average monthly processing fees paid by Merchant to Provider, plus Provider’s costs and attorneys’ fees incurred in connection with Merchant’s termination of this Agreement.” The company does not provide further pricing or terms on its website, but this uncapped cancellation fee alone is enough to warrant a “D” rating in this section.
Virtual Terminal and Payment Gateway Pricing
In addition to its storefront payment processing services, eVance Processing also dedicates a portion of its website to advertising its virtual terminal and payment gateway services, through SecurePay. However, is not disclosed pricing on either of those services. Additional eVance Processing rates and fees, including gateway fees, technical support fees, batch fees, and additional transaction rates typically apply to these e-commerce services.
Potentially Varied Terms
These are merely the company’s terms and conditions through Merrick Bank. It’s possible that eVance might also offer contract terms similar to those offered by Calpian Commerce’s subsidiaries (a three-year term with a $350 early termination fee and a PCI compliance fee of up to $185) or those offered by Securus Payments and Chyp (variable merchant account contract terms with 48-month, non-cancellable equipment leases). The company’s use of independent sales agents may allow for further variation in eVance fees and pricing.
Higher-Than-Average Pricing
We have located multiple eVance Processing complaints that mention unauthorized billing and eVance Processing fees. The track records of Pipeline Data, Calpian Commerce, Securus Payments, and Chyp are also uniformly negative in this category. In our view, the eVance Processing rates and merchant agreement terms are not competitive with those offered by the cheapest merchant account providers.

Independent Sales Team
Like Calpian Commerce and Pipeline Data before it, eVance Processing appears to primarily rely on ISOs like Chyp as well as independently contracted agents to market its services. This strategy produced a large number of complaints for Pipeline Data but seemed to result in a much lower complaint total at Calpian. We are currently able to find a handful of eVance Processing reviews that mention undisclosed fees and negative experiences with sales agents. In addition, its exclusive marketing partner Chyp is already starting to receive negative reviews related to its sales team. If you suspect that eVance Processing is charging you undisclosed fees, we recommend seeking a third-party statement audit to find and eliminate hidden charges.
A Problematic History
eVance deserves some credit for not prominently advertising deceptive rate quotes or guarantees on its website. However, its current corporate affiliations and organizational history do not suggest that merchants are likely to receive a positive sales experience. This does not compare favorably to our list of best credit card processors. We will assign the company a “C” in this category for now.
eVance Processing Review Summary
Our Final Thoughts and Opinions
Not a Competitive Option for Most Merchants
eVance Processing rates as a below-average merchant services provider according to our rating criteria. The brand has a long history under several other names, and a few eVance Processing complaints accuse the company of being a ripoff. For now, we have graded eVance in a way that is consistent with merchant complaints about its partners and subsidiaries; this rating may be subject to change as the company develops a reputation of its own. Merchants interested in signing up with eVance Processing are advised to request and review all documentation before signing up and to consider opting for a top-rated merchant account instead.

This company is a SCAM. They will triple and quadruple your rates, pillage your account and do everything they can to rip off your company for as much money as possible. AVOID THEM. You will thank yourself later.
Henry
Thank you
Michael
On Dec. 1 of 2015, they took a very large unauthorized amount out of my account. So much that it put my business account into the negative and caused numerous overdraft fees. They acknowledged the mistake but said it could take up to 15 days to put it back and they would refund my money. Unfortunately, the bank I work with doesn’t care. It is now the 21st and I have not seen a refund. To add insult to injury, my customers can’t make it through the checkout process because it declines their cards. I’ve sent numerous emails since this has started and have gotten nothing. They have literally crippled my business. DO NOT USE THEM AS YOUR CC PROCESSOR. What they are doing is fraud.
Michael
As of 1/5/2017, my money plus the overdraft fees have not been returned. To top it off, they have taken another large sum of money out of my account today. For the last month, overtime I called they would tell me the refund is on the way and should be showing up any day. Today they are claiming that the refund was rejected even though Wells Fargo has no record of it going through. I’m waiting to hear back from Dorion McMillian on how they are going to fix this new situation. Unfortunately, if I’m going to get any money back, I have to keep working with them. I will update shortly. This mess started on December 1st. They have crippled my business.
Toni Drugmand
They are a nightmare. Get out as soon s you can and DO NOT trust them with your money!
We spent 6 weeks trying to work with them and nothing they promised was delivered. They charged us all kinds of miscellaneous fees, we were promised reimbursements which we NEVER received.
Laura
For the last two weeks I have been attempting to get a hold of this company via email AND phone. Every extension defaults to the same answering machine. In addition to being unable to contact a customer service agent (this is the company that processes cards on my website) they have changed their company name without notification, charging roughly 37.00 per month via automatic debit to my bank for services NOT rendered.
Since I can’t seem to get anyone on the phone and the BBB has two alternate company names – one of them being securepay.net – SAME TELEPHONE NUMBER. You guessed it – same voicemail too.
I DO NOT recommend hiring a credit card processing company you can’t get on the phone, ever!
Pauline murphy
I currently have two accounts with this company. I am in the process of moving my accounts due to there poor customer service and time management of handeling issues. It has taken me over a month to recieve a refund for PCI compliance that the company unauthorized removed funds from my account and on five different occasions been sent the pci certificates. The supervisor guaranteed a refund by a certain date and still was not processed for another five and did not return phone calls. Extremely unprofessional.
Laura
Pauline – I can’t believe you even got someone on the phone! How long did it take them to get back to you?
