There are fewer than 10 negative ExpiTrans reviews to be found online, a few of which accuse the company of being a scam and a ripoff. Some complaints were filed on WebHostingTalk.com, with one ExpiTrans complaint posted originally in 2006 and another posted in 2013. The 2006 complaint and its ensuing comment thread cite poor customer service and delayed payouts from ExpiTrans, while the 2013 complaint was filed regarding problems with an international processing account created by an independent agent of ExpiTrans. An ExpiTrans representative has informed us that neither complainant was a direct merchant of ExpiTrans. In the comment section below this review and on other websites, further complaints describe a chaotic work environment at the company, deceptive sales tactics, billing errors, and poor customer service. If you have your own ExpiTrans review to make, please do so in the comments.
We have not found any outstanding class-action lawsuits or FTC complaints filed against ExpiTrans. Dissatisfied clients who wish to pursue a non-litigious course of action against the company should consider reporting it to the relevant supervisory organizations.
ExpiTrans offers live chat and a very limited help center on its website. These options do not meet our expectations of the top-rated payment processors for great customer service, but ExpiTrans appears to have avoided the high complaint rate we would predict.

BBB Reports | 11 |
ExpiTrans currently has a “D-” rating with the Better Business Bureau and is not accredited. The company is showing 2 complaints in the last 36 months. 1 of the complaints was resolved to the dissatisfaction of the merchant or did not receive a final response from the merchant. The other complaint was resolved to the satisfaction of the client.
ExpiTrans has also received 9 informal reviews to its BBB profile, all negative in tone. The most recent negative review accuses the company of fraud:
This company are thieves. They will rob merchants of every last ***** by charging outrageous hidden fees, and holding funds. They are the worst payments company I’ve worked with in 8 years in this industry. They are also deceitful to their agents. So if you’re looking for a partner don’t choose them!
Businesses in a situation similar to this should research how to effectively dispute chargebacks on their account that they deem to be erroneous or unauthorized.
In light of these figures, we have modified the BBB’s rating to a “C”.

There isn’t much information available about the standard ExpiTrans contract at this time. The company is partnered with four separate backend processors, and businesses have reported varying details about its contract terms. Some of these details include a three-year agreement with a $400 early termination fee, a $40 monthly minimum fee, and an unidentified $160 monthly fee.
In addition to its storefront payment processing services, ExpiTrans also dedicates a portion of its website to advertising its virtual terminal and payment gateway services. The company advertises multiple partnerships with gateway providers including Authorize.Net, Cayan, USAePay, and NMI, among others. However, pricing is not disclosed on either of those services. However, Authorize.Net advertises a transaction rate of 2.90% plus $0.30 as well as a gateway fee of $25 per month and a batch fee of $0.10, all of which may apply to clients using these services through ExpiTrans. Additional rates and fees, including technical support fees, may apply to these e-commerce services.
It is likely that these terms and fees will vary from client to client, but the available evidence suggests that ExpiTrans’s pricing does not compete with the cheapest merchant accounts. If you have any specific knowledge regarding the standard ExpiTrans merchant agreement (including any early termination fees, PCI compliance fees, monthly minimum fees, or other costs), please share that information in the comment section of this review.

ExpiTrans appears to market itself primarily through sub-ISOs, independent sales agents, and referral partners. As a general rule, the use of independent sales agents is commonly linked to elevated complaint rates in the credit card processing industry. We have found a few ExpiTrans reviews that describe unethical or unprofessional conduct by the company’s sales team. According to one ExpiTrans complaint (found in the comment section below), the company intentionally leads businesses to believe that they are the business’ current processor and that sales reps forge documents. While this is an extremely serious accusation, it is the only one of its kind and appears to be an outlier. In general, this compares favorably to our list of best credit card processors.
As a point in its favor, ExpiTrans does not list misleading rate quotes in its official materials. However, ExpiTrans complaints about its sales team lower its rating to a “B” in this section. If you suspect that an ExpiTrans representative misrepresented your pricing, you can double-check them with a third-party statement audit.
ExpiTrans rates as a dependable credit card processing provider according to our rating standards. The company is showing a low number of complaints and does not appear to engage in deceptive advertising strategies. Our grade for ExpiTrans may change once more information is available regarding its standard contract. Readers are encouraged to compare ExpiTrans’s pricing and services to those offered by top-rated merchant account providers in order to obtain the best deal possible.

Following my review of 10/25/22, Expitrans responded to my concerns, an a mutual dialogue took place. This resulted in ExpiTrans and Sespe Suds reaching a mutual agreement that both sides feelis fair and satisfactory. I and Sespe Suds appreciate Expitrans’s willingness to respond to our concerns and to resolve matters. –Simon Menkes

I apologize for creating 2 comments, but it’s important to note that my client, Sespe Suds, does not have significant chargebacks, so there was no legitimate reason that Expitrans withheld the ETF’s they did. (Please feel free to combine this with my prior comment.)

I am a CPA for a company that has been victimized by Expitrans, and after numerous phone calls as well as sending emails to their customer service department, Director of Risk Management, and Director of Operations, and getting virtually no response, I have today filed with the FTC and the California Attorney General. Over a period of eight days, Expitrans continued to process my client’s credit cards but stopped sending them their money, ending up withholding $38,261.36. My client was never given an explanation and stopped processing with them. Nine months later, Expitrans returned to them $19,725.19, keeping $18,536.17 as Early Termination Fees. I would strongly suggest you look elsewhere for a company to do business with.

I have had Expitrans on board for our office since 2020 initially for high risk accounts. We have used them for traditional accounts since then. At least with our office we are in control of what we do with contracts and pricing. I cannot speak for the rest of the independent agents but we’re happy and we do not have issues with customers being messed with.

Johnathan was extremely professional and efficient.
Most helpful individual I’ve had the pleasure of working with in recent memory.

I also wish to thank ExpiTrans for their superb technical support during the installation of our credit card processing service at Pancho’s Antojitos Mexicanos restaurant in NYC. I especially want to congratulate you on assembling a most expert tech support team which includes such pleasant and expert technicians like Johnathan S and Jackie F. Johnathan S. provided such timely and seasoned tech support that our new credit card processing system was installed and operational so seamlessly, efficiently and in a most timely manner.
Johnathan S. was so efficient and patient during the installation that we felt like an ExpiTrans premier client. He efficiently stepped us through the entire implementation process and made sure we were operational in no time. It was so pleasant to work with someone as patient as Johnathan S. since we are not tech savvy about credit card processing. No one does it better than ExpiTrans.

This review expresses my utmost gratitude and respect towards the delightful customer service staff and superior tech support staff at ExpiTrans. As a new client of ExpiTrans, I want to thank your customer service staff, Darlene L. and Jackie F., for such a delightful experience in implementing your services for our Pizza Chef restaurant in NYC. The customer service staff was so delightful to deal with and they were meticulous in tending to every detail to make our transition to ExpiTrans such a pleasant experience.
Barbara Schmidt
I have found the customer service at ExpiTrans to be above par. I have worked with Matt K., Danny G., Darlene L., and James W. and have been very happy with the support they have provided.
When I call in with a question they respond quickly and are very helpful. I always receive an update on anything that is going on with my account.
This experience is much different from other processor where you call in and the support team doesn’t even know who you are or you are transferred form one department to another.
Very good and responsive personnel.

CRIMINALS! If I could rate 0 stars, then I would. They lied the entire time I was setting up service with them, didn’t actually know what they were doing, and then charged me for services that I didn’t sign up for! Then I had one small chargeback, and they held the entire batch for that day in addition to bouncing the small charge back, so I am out money. And now they are saying they will not release the funds for 6 months! Liars and criminals. I went back to my old company, Global Banking, and have had no problems. Please don’t do what I did and get caught up in their scam!!!

This company is a complete scam. I have no idea if they offer any legitimate services, but you better hope you never have a problem. They had me wait, assuring me they would refund the money they incorrectly charged, instead during that time they were making more fraudulent charges to my account, and of course never refunded anything. They are not even responding to my emails now. EXPITRANS IS A COMPLETE SCAM. EXPITRANS IS A RIPOFF. EXPITRANS SCAM SCAM SCAM EXPITRANS FRAUD

This SCAM company told me there would be no monthly fee. $166 was then pulled from my bank account. They have told me at least 20 times over the last 6 weeks that either I will be refunded or the refund is already processed or some variation. Still, I don’t have my money back. AS I’M WRITING THIS REVIEW, I SEE THAT THEY PULLED ANOTHER $160 FROM MY ACCOUNT. THIS IS AFTER I TOLD THEM TO DELETE ALL MY INFORMATION, AS I WOULD NEVER USE THEIR SERVICES.

Agree with all the above. The will not stop sending statements for account maintenance…even though we cancelled their services over 2 years ago! ‘Had to block their withdrawals at the bank. I personally spoke to Scott Vickers (the owner) about this and he has done nothing. Annoying, poorly managed business.
Brian
This company does not have a 24 hour hotline and very little customer service. I’ve personally seen ill play happen at this “Company “. They lie to there employees and say they can get High Risk deals done. Which they can but only let there top guys reap the benefits. They lie to their employees and say they can get them appointments and they cannot at least not within a fashionable Timley manner. They have burned many bridges much more to come. Almost everything they say is a lie. I’ve seen companies lose thousands of dollars because they make promises they cannot keep
Jason
Expitrans is an Un organized, deceitful company. They bait and switch, they call companies saying that they are their current processor and don’t tell them till the very end. They have no tech support, no 24 hour customer service, or any customer service, they forge documents and make promises they can’t keep.
