Company Overview
Also known as Velocity Marketing Partners, Velocity, LLC was founded in 1999 as a merchant account provider that serves most standard-risk business types. There are reports connecting Velocity, Todd McCartney, or a related holding company, “T-Money Holdings,” to the follow companies: Smart Choice Payments, Wholesale Merchant Processing, and First Choice Payments, American Payment Systems, and North American Processing Solutions.
Additionally, according to a complaint on our Payment Systems Corporation review, Smart Choice Payments, First Choice Payments, and North American Processing Solutions may be subsidiaries or related to Payment Systems Corporation, which ranks as one of the worst merchant account providers we have ever reviewed.
Todd McCartney has contested his connection or ownership to several of these companies, including North American Processing Solutions, Payment Systems Corporation, and Advantage Media Partners. He also contests a connection to “First American Payment Systems” in an email, though CPO has never alleged that the two are connected. It is difficult to determine the exact nature of some of these relationships; however, we can confirm that Todd McCartney and North American Processing Solutions have been named together in at least one lawsuit. Todd McCartney has also listed alongside various company names in legal disputes.
We can also determine from public sources that North American Processing Solutions shared an address with one of Mr. McCartney’s other companies, a Massage Envy franchise. Mr. McCartney claims in the dispute that “we only did customer service for them.” We did find evidence of another business operating under the name of American Payment Systems, LLC, listing Todd McCartney as the president and North American Processing Solutions as an alternative business name. According to online records, American Payment Systems is reported to be under the T-Money Holdings portfolio.

The company’s marketing services are offered alongside its e-commerce merchant accounts, but this should not obscure the fact that Velocity is as much a payment processor as it is a marketing service. Other names that have been reported to be associated with Velocity as a marketing firm in various online merchant complaints include Global Media Solutions, Wholesale Internet Solutions, and Priority Placement Media.

We are currently able to locate more than 30 negative Velocity reviews, some of which accuse the company of being a scam. They treat workers like crap pick and chooses who to reprimand when all the employees are doing the same things and getting away with it. Bosses have intimate relationships with coworkers and allow it to affect work. Don’t care about any of their clients or their workers. They would have us block people who were just calling to complain about the services they were promised when they were wanting a solution. During a pandemic fired employees for being sick too often and staying home even tho it’s mandated by the state. They even purposefully unfairly taxed our checks and didn’t fix it. F*** Velocity LLC.

Three-Year Contract
According to merchant complaints, the standard Velocity payment processing contract is identical to the standard Smart Choice Payments contract. The Smart Choice Payments Merchant Application and the Smart Choice Payments Program Guide convey a three-year agreement with an early termination fee of $495, a monthly PCI compliance fee of $4.95, a monthly minimum fee of $25, a monthly statement fee of $10, and an accompanying non-cancellable, four-year equipment lease through Northern Leasing Systems.
In addition, we have found one report of an additional early termination fee of $900 that is charged upon cancellation. This sounds a lot like a similar $893.98 fee charged by Wholesale Merchant Processing, but we are unable to determine why the company charges it under either name.
Virtual Terminal and Payment Gateway Pricing
In addition to its storefront payment processing services, the Smart Choice Payments merchant application that Velocity, LLC relies on also references a virtual terminal and payment gateway through Payeezy, powered by First Data (Fiserv). Payeezy offers 2 separate plans, the Basic Plan and Pro Plan. Neither plan charges setup fees, statement fees, or gateway fees. The Basic Plan charges a rate of 2.90% plus $0.30. Meanwhile, the Pro Plan offers a lower rate of 1.89% plus $0.23 and a monthly fee of $19.95.
Beware Long-Term Leases
Velocity’s merchant account contract terms are more expensive than industry averages and would warrant a rating at least as low as “C” on their own. However, two other factors lower the company’s score in this section to an “F.” First, the company’s agents appear to commonly package their processing agreements with long-term equipment leases through Northern Leasing Systems. Northern Leasing Systems is notorious for selling non-cancellable four-year leases that charge thousands of dollars for equipment that can be purchased for under $500. Second, the regular complaints about nondisclosure of contract terms indicate that many businesses are signing up with the understanding that they will not face any of these fees. This makes the contract’s length and fee structure even more damaging for unsuspecting business owners.
Higher-Than-Average Costs

Sales Complaints
Like Smart Choice Payments, Velocity appears to sell its products and services through a combination of telemarketing and independently contracted sales agents. We have found a number of Velocity, LLC reviews that cite nondisclosure of contract terms, undelivered goods, and difficulty contacting sales agents after the contract was signed. A number of complaints from former and current employees also describe a “hiring mill” type of environment. This does not compare favorably to our list of best credit card processors.
A New Type of Complaint
Velocity’s payment processing complaints generally mirror those filed against Smart Choice Payments, and some Smart Choice complaints also mention Velocity as though they are the same company. However, Velocity has also generated a growing number of complaints related to its marketing services. In particular, the company appears to offer clients the ability to advertise on hotel room keycard envelopes. Many business owners state that they never received any proof that these advertisements were created or circulated. Although this does not relate to payment processing, it is a fairly damning trend for a company that promotes itself as both a credit card processor and marketing service.
Some Red Flags
Taking into account the complaints filed against both Velocity and its various DBAs, we have assigned the company a “D” in this section. If you suspect that Velocity is charging you undisclosed fees, we recommend seeking a third-party statement audit to find and eliminate hidden costs.

Our Final Thoughts and Opinions
Velocity rates as a substandard credit card processing services provider according to our rating criteria, just like its various other aliases. A new name does not appear to have improved the quality of the company’s service, and its add-on marketing services have only generated more complaints from merchants. Velocity, LLC should not be confused with Velocity Merchant Services, an entirely separate payment processor. Businesses who have been contacted by Velocity are advised to request and review all documentation and compare it to top-rated all-purpose payment processors before signing up.

I know that this is the correct business because I have paperwork with their logo on it do not do business with them this company has 31 complaints look up velocity reviews comparisons and and lawsuits before you do business with them. I have a contract began on October 31st 2019 it is now May 25th of 21 and is still not resolved I have 40 pages of excuses in email form and have sent them to Heather and Solana and nothing has happened they they denied having a contract with me so I sent them 40 pages of emails along with the contract. When I tried to contact them I had found that they had blocked my phone number and my emails the reason why I know that is I used a friend’s phone that is on the same phone system and I could get through just fine with that including the emails they simply just stopped communicating after all the money spent and all the promises I received nothing!

VMS just sent me a bill for their services claiming early termination. But have refused to release 2 months of sales that they held, claiming they could not access my account. however during the time they said they could not access my account they withdrew service fees and then when I didn’t get my money I closed my account. I spoke to several people who said they would look into it but nobody ever called me back. Now I am finding out they also did not pay on the lease of my clover station so they are now trying to collect from me too. How they can still be allowed to operate in this manner is amazing. There seems to be no recourse. i would definitely be willing to precipitate in any class action against them

I am sorry to hear what is going on with your account sir, we do not have the capability of holding you funds, First Data whom controls over 55% of the credit card processing market is in control of these situations, if you have high chargebacks or any charges in question, you must provide them or us the documentation to verify these sales, once that is completed, your money is usually released pretty quickly. Are you sure it was my company that didn’t call you back or First Data risk? Either way, I am here now to help you in anyway that I can. As far as Velocity paying on “your Clover lease”, that is not something we would do. I received my so called free terminal from Velocity merchants in August 2020 and have yet to receive service for the terminal to this date of January 21,2021. The customer service is very poor and they do not mind taking money from your account without satisfying the contract in which agreed upon. I have a brand new terminal that is 6 months old that i have never used and am getting charged for . They REFUSE to give me the proper address to mail the terminal back to so that i can properly terminate the account .

This company does not honor their contracts. They sell advertising on key card holders for hotels but the hotels never give out the key card holders. This is a fraudulent company. Do not give this company your credit card number.

It is a scam, ripoff they tell something and do something else, they said we will save you 132.00$ a month l ended up with 3leases , after that ended up with two around 520.00 approximately ,l was supposed to one lease and no body care been waiting for the sales manager to call me no luck yet , they said will give cash discounts application that saves you money for 710.00$ including the lease for the equipment no luck they take 710.00$ plus two leases and 54.00 for cash discounts programs. Wish I would have looked up this companies reviews before I was stupid enough to sign the worst contract in the world with them. I ignored alot of what was written in the contract under the verbal promise that I will not be held to the terms of the contract. Please read past page 8 in your contract!!!!!!!!!! That is where the horror begins and right where I stopped reading :< Don't end up like me. I had companies deducting from my bank account at times that I was not prepared. All I can hope 4 now is that I do save money on my monthly processing fees.

I never get what they promise. They said My rate will go down Than I used to pay. After the first month, I end up Pay 5.26% My credit card processing only $9407.58 5.26% from $9407.58 will be 494.73+190 for Clover machine Total will be 684.73 a month this is way too much and nobody charged 5.26% in 2019. They said I will pay about $220 a month include Clover machine This is all the lie. We don’t make much money to pay over $600 a month. And I told the sale man I will sale My Bussiness soon and He’s said the Velocity will find the new customer for My contract After I sold my business They’re said I need to find somebody to take over My lease. My business has been sold 3 months already I can’t find any nobody to take over yet and I need to keep paying 123.84+190= 313.84 A month $190 for Clover machine I don’t have much money to pay every month. Rip off do not even pick up phone with Velocity Merchant Services , and First Data global Leasing , Time Payment, they all same business , if you have same issue leave complaints through this website , Bad experience with Velocity Merchant Services LLC , start out my small business and been using Bank of America for 6 months, I got phone call from Velocity sale representative so many time , he will help me save my money and want me try out for 90 days, if I don’t like , I can cancel with no fee , he told me the monthly fee is 200 , after I been using for months, I found out the monthly fee is almost 600$ so I call them , and tell them that is not right, then they will fix it for me , they told me the old guy made mistakes, will buy out old leasing and get me new one , so they let me sign up another one 665 per month to fix it and then they promised will fix 665 to 120 for me , they make me put deposit 2500$ for equipment under 2000$ value , I found out they did buy old lease and I compare the rate is more than my old company, so I close my account and sent all equipments back to Velocity, they bill me terminated fee 3200$ , 8700$ And more coming from Time Payment , this is rip off , I just start out small business and my first year , I lost a lot already then this company kill my business , I have to close my , selling to other people , if anybody have same is issue, make complaints to this website
