Sales & Marketing
Key Points - Sales & Marketing
|Employs Independent Resellers||No|
|Advertises Deceptive Rates||No|
|Discloses All Important Terms||No|
Easy Pay Direct primarily utilizes a combination of strategic partnerships and in-house sales agents to market its services. The company does not employ independent sales staff, and there are no negative Easy Pay Direct reviews that mention the company’s sales team. At the time of our last review, the Easy Pay Direct website listed some rate quotes that could have been interpreted as misleading. Since then, however, the company’s website has been revamped and does not promote any rate quotes whatsoever. We consider this to be a positive shift.

Costs & Contract
Key Points - Costs & Contract
|Swiped Rate||1.59% + $0.17|
|Keyed-in Rate||2.29% + $0.29|
|Early Termination Fee||Variable|
|PCI Compliance Fee||Variable|
|Equipment Lease Terms||None|
A company representative has stated that Easy Pay Direct provides services through Electronic Payments Inc., PowerPay, and various offshore providers. The terms of its agreements (including PCI Compliance fees, monthly fees, and rate structures) will therefore vary greatly from merchant to merchant. Although the company usually offers a standard service length of three years, the same representative stated that Easy Pay Direct almost always charges no early termination fee, which minimizes the impact of a long-term agreement. The only case in which the company might charge early termination fees is when it places a merchant with an offshore provider.
At the time of our last update, the Easy Pay Direct website listed a setup fee of $99, a monthly fee of $24.95, a swiped rate of 1.59% plus $0.17, a keyed-in rate of 2.29% plus $0.29, and an ACH rate of 1.6% plus $0.29 per transaction. We have no reason to believe that these rates and fees are unchanged since then. Although we believe that interchange-plus pricing is more favorable to merchants than tiered pricing, there are no Easy Pay Direct complaints in which customers state that they feel deceived by its tiered pricing plan. In light of this information, we are awarding the company an “A” in this category for the time being.
Complaints & Service
Key Points - Complaints & Service
|Total Online Complaints||<10|
|Live Customer Support||Yes|
|Most Common Complaint||N/A|
We are currently unable to locate any Easy Pay Direct negative reviews that accuse the company of being a ripoff or a scam. Although it does resell the services of several payment processors, Easy Pay Direct models itself as more of an online gateway provider than an ISO. As a result, the company likely will not receive many of the complaints that arise from the services offered by its processors. Easy Pay Direct offers in-house support for all accounts, and the company’s monthly statements also provide contact information for the merchant’s actual payment processor. This seems to be a functional support system, as merchants are not posting Easy Pay Direct complaints in public forums. In the absence of any complaints, we are awarding the company an “A” rating in this category.
Key Points - BBB
|Product & Service Complaints||0|
|Billing & Collection Complaints||0|
|Advertising & Sales Complaints||0|
|Guarantee & Warranty Complaints||0|
Easy Pay Direct currently has an overall rating of “A+” with the Better Business Bureau and has been accredited since January of 2015. Easy Pay Direct has not accumulated any complaints on its BBB profile. It also has received zero informal reviews, although it should be noted that these reviews are not subject to verification by the BBB. In light of the company’s clean complaint record and time in business, we agree with the BBB’s rating at this time.
