Previously it had an “A+” rating, and it had been since January of 2015 at the time of our last review. Easy Pay Direct has not accumulated any complaints on its BBB profile. In general, merchants should be aware that there is reason to be skeptical of the BBB’s reviews.

Easy Pay Direct has previously received 2 reviews through the BBB. 1 review was positive while the other was negative. The most recent review was left by a merchant accusing the company of continuing to bill them after their account had been canceled:

Customer communication practices are deceptive and abusive. Refused to stop billing on cancelled accounts. No one answers the 1-800 number and you get different people on email who give you the run around. Their processing service paired us up with poor vendors and Easy Pay is simply a broker in the middle. They continue to bill us post cancellation and will not stop. Run for the hills.

Although the company usually offers a standard service length of three years, the same representative stated that Easy Pay Direct almost always charges no early termination fee, which minimizes the impact of a long-term agreement. The only case in which the company might charge an early termination fee is when it places a merchant with an offshore provider. This is similar to the providers of the best merchant accounts.

Easy Pay Direct lists a setup fee of $99, a monthly fee of $24.95, a swiped rate of 1.59% plus $0.17, a keyed-in rate of 2.39% plus $0.29, and an ACH rate of 1.6% plus $0.29 per transaction. Although we believe that interchange-plus pricing is more favorable to merchants than tiered pricing, there are no Easy Pay Direct complaints in which customers state that they feel deceived by its tiered pricing plan. In light of this information, we are awarding the company an “A” in this category for the time being, but Easy Pay Direct is not considered to be a provider of the cheapest merchant accounts.

    BE AWARE: I experienced the most rude and worst customer service ever. A representative named Bobby called me to set up my account, and he was the most ignorant and arrogant customer service agent I’ve ever encountered.

    They were very easy to work with and the team is incredibly knowledgeable. After being kicked off stripe for being too high risk I went on the hunt for someone reliable. I learned many things through the process of signing up, such as companies like Stripe don’t actually give you a merchant account; you are using theirs. Which is part of why they can just shut you down randomly. If you are trying to scale a business quickly I highly recommend easy pay direct.

    Where do I begin. They set me up and charges me fees to process, I never had a single charge back in the whole 3 months I processed, then I received a letter stating i only had 30 more days to process. They wasted my time and took fees galore then after my processor was closed they still still took gateway fees. So I asked for a refund and was told management declined to refund a whole 10.00 !!!! Its not about the money its about the time you have wasted of mine so in return I will waste some more time and in return your gonna lose potential customers. Charging a one time for 3 months of service is also a scam!!!
